The Who- "Who's Next" a "must have" in any rock music collection. (BTW, great on SDA's as well)

I don't think I'll ever listen to another CD. I listen to it three or four times through. Then I go through my CD rack, looking for something else to play and say, "Nope, I'd rather listen to this one a few more times."

    It's great!

Mindy Smith - One Moment More

    B00012FXQI.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg

Another local girl that has done well. Sort of county, bluegrass, Americanna (contemporary country) in the vein of Shawn Colvin or maybe Alison Krauss. There are a couple of artists that have come out of this area that I had the opportunity to hear before they cut an album. Mindy is one. A nicely recorded CD as well. I might bring this one to PF.

Godspeed You Black Emperor - F#A# (courtesy of Demi)

Haunting and melodic instrumentals. At times presented barely above a whisper, at other times cacaphonous. Sweeping and majestic -- and always beautiful. Dark and longing, making me nostalgic for events that have never even happened.

Hard to describe unless you're familiar with music like this. A treasured find.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Thanks! I just noticed that that Lou Reed album was in my 'want to buy' CD list, due to recommendations I'd read about in other threads...then it turns out that album happened to be one of the tapes I just bought! How neat. It actually turns out a lot of those tapes were on my 'want to buy' list.

I enjoyed that tape, though you could tell the previous owner liked it and played it a lot, too.

This is truely one of the greatest recordings and performaces ever. I have the LPs, CDs, and CDs of Vol 1, 2, & 3 they are extraordinary.

You will swear you are sitting amongst the patrons drinking at the jazz club.

    You can get it at:

I am not affiliated with elusive disc or proprious, I just love these recordings.
