    Billy Idol - Vital Idol

EDIT - This is a good tape! There are several songs on here I recognize! And the rest are pretty good. So far I've recognized "Dancing With Myself" and "Mony Mony". "White Wedding" was good, too.

EDITx2 - The back side is good, too. :D

I am loving it, for sure!! I just can't begin to express the thrill of having 82 tapes sitting beside you...tapes of great artists/groups who you've never heard of, much less heard, each tape containing its own style, personality, just waiting to break out and rattle the windows! I should buy music blindly more often! LOL

    Dayna Manning-Volume 1

Canadian native Dayna Manning admits to being influenced by a large assortment of artists, such as Joni Mitchell, Tool, and Rage Against the Machine, among others. Manning's own music probably slips into what is considered pop/rock, but many of her tunes carry hints of alternative, folk, and roots rock. Her debut album was recorded in 1997 when she was 18 years old.

While some would call her a Canadian Jewel, Dayna Manning is attempting to come of age as an individual in this present world of female singer/songwriters, and with Volume One, she succeeds handsomely. A fine variety of song styles weaves a tempting web throughout this disc -- from the folkie tint of "Half a Man," awhere she recalls the late Sandy Denny, to the rocking "My Addiction," where she describes her man as just that, to "My Kind," a fine song made even finer by the help of Sean Lennon on guitar, bass and organ. With twelve original songs from a fresh young talent, Volume One is highly recommended.

She has a very unique voice and she was part of the Lillith Fair festival in 1997. Unfortunaetly this CD is now out-of-print and can sometimes be found in the used bins. A truely outstanding effort and I wish she would have pursued her musical career and put out another cd. This is another one of my ever increasing "desert island" cds.

While "Can't Buy a Thrill" and "Aja" probably enjoyed more commercial success, this one always seemed to capture the range of Fagen and Becker's collaborative genius for me.
