So they now say the plane pinged the satellites for 7 1/2 hours from take-off. Obviously it had a lot of fuel onboard. There are a lot of places that plane could be, none of them good. We have satellites that monitor the earth and can read a license plate number. I may be wrong, however I'm still thinking that someone knows where it went and just doesn't want the rest of the world to know that yet. I also don't think you go to all that work to crash it somewhere else. There is a plan in progress.

They serviced this bird for maximum flying time, rather than for just a flight to Beijing. The extra fuel would allow them to fly to Tehran, Kabul, or other such place. The added fuel also does not play to the pilot suicide narrative. The first things I would want to see is the flight crew's private computers and be having long talks with the ground crew about why they serviced the jet with more fuel than the flight required.

I would want to talk to the 5 people who were in the waiting area and did not take their seats on the flight. I'm guessing they were there to make sure the right people got on the flight.

One thing this incident has clearly shown is the need for some type of permanent, non-accessible tracking device for all airliners. Just as black boxes are now required, this too should be required. Being on a public vehicle I don't think anyone could complain about government intrusion, or a lack of privacy. However, the airlines will complain about the cost.

Such a system should be spread through several components as well, such that turning one off would activate another, hidden device that even the ground crews know nothing about. Whomever took this bird had help from the ground crew as well as assistance from a nation/state.

I'm not so sure about that. You can board a 777-200 in Newark and fly non-stop to Hong Kong. Depending on conditions it can take anywhere from 14 to 15+ hours and again depending on conditions and exact route flown 8000 to 8500 statute miles, and I don't think they are coming in on fumes. Airlines typically do try to load only enough fuel for the flight. The less they start with the more effecient they can fly, less weight in fuel, less fuel burned for same distance. Not sure how much extra was loaded for this flight, but I don't think it was a max load.

There are several models of the 777 airframe. Fuel load, range and such are dependent on type, engine package and function of the aircraft(passenger/cargo/military).

The type used for this flight was a 777-200ER with Rolls Royce engines. That package has a maximum range of 7500 nautical miles. Given that the altitude of the flight was substantially below the cruise altitude of 35000 feet, range would be greatly affected.

Bottom line is that until we find the plane and it's crew, the only ones that may have anything else to provide are those that had contact with that aircraft, and the personal backrounds/ computers and such, of it's crew.

This morning the news is that a possible destination is Pakistan. Couple that with another statement that even military radar in that part of the world is turned off at times, you have to assume this operation had more than a few hijackers involved.

Europe and Israel should be on high alert right now. This was not a common theft of a plane or it's cargo. Nope, with the cooperation involved to pull this off, a higher purpose was needed. The NSA is now involved so the element of a good threat is apparent. Hopefully we can bring this to closure without sacrificing many lives....and before that plane is used to take even more lives.

Yes, let's send troops into the Ukraine. We also should have flown our military advisers over to Malaysia and "grabbed this bull by the horns".

You know, our military force still overpowers any other countries military by at least 10X in size and expenditures. If "having balls" requires the US sending troops into every conflict around the globe, count me out. Look how well Iraq and Afghanistan have turned out.....absolutely in our best interest!

People need to starting using their minds and thinking about what is really in our "best interests". Sending troops into Iraq and Afghanistan for long-term deployments....what have we achieved as a nation under the guise of "the world is a safer place". On the other hand, how many soldiers are coming home disabled or worse.

How many kids in this country never finish high-school and drop-out altogether.....about 50%.
How many kids and over-weight will grow up to have diabetes.............................about 33%.
How many people in this country have to live off the minimum wage (uh-oh, dont touch that one).

Maybe think about what being a "strong-nation" actually means.

I am sure Israel is on hi alert, and upscaling combat air patrols on watch for sinister aircraft approaching Israeli airspace. Call me crazy but I would concentrate satelite surveillence over Iran. Could they have a plan/way to attack Israel while spoofing the ID of this plane?

New allegations about one of the individuals piloting the missing Malaysia Airlines jet were reported in the Mail Online Sunday, as authorities continue to examine a flight simulator taken from his home.

According to Mail Online, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was a “fanatical” and “obsessive” supporter of Malaysia’s opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who was imprisoned for homosexuality hours before flight MH370 vanished.

Shah was reportedly at the trial where Ibrahim was sentenced for five years. Police sources added to the Mail Online that the pilot was a vocal political activist.

A new image of Shah also surfaced online, appearing to show the pilot wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the “Democracy is Dead” slogan.
