The Bengals over the Chargers is the biggest lock this week. Chargers nearly got beat by KC's scrubs last week. Their defense is way too lame to hold up on the road, in inclement weather vs a superior defense and equal, if not better, offense.
I think SF beats GB. Aaron Rodgers is too soon back for a game like this, Clay Matthews out on defense hurts them big time.
NO will pull the upset on the road against Philly. Drew Breeeees!
And finally, Indy beats KC for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, this time at home in the cozy confines of the dome with home crowd advantage.

It was tough but 2-0 so far. Tomorrow will be much easier.

Well I'll take the win by SD, gives me the possibility of a chance to see my Broncos and Colts an extra game and play each other for the AFC title. It also delays the potential internal conflict of who to root for when they play each other.

I think you're confusing pouting with studying defensive formations, which is what I see him doing pretty much every time they show him sitting on the bench over there. That might be part of the reason why he tends to be able to adjust and carve up defenses as the game goes on, at least when he does it effectively.

I like the Matchup with the Chargers and Broncos. This will be a great game but I think the Broncos are going to come out strong and not turn it off for 60 minutes. I think the Charges last stop in the Playoffs will be in Denver.

My 49ers are having issues with formations, personnel, etc especially on offense that are simply unacceptable at this point in the season. This crap is understandable in preseason, but at this point all this needs to be worked out. They should be focused on making plays, not where they should be on the field before the ball is snapped.

The defense is keeping the game close, and the offense is making plays, but the lack of organization is ridiculous.

Agreed, I want SF to win, but they don't look that good on offense..

Ok, time to pick week #2

I'm picking my 49ers, Broncos, and Colts. I'm picking those because I pretty much have to, but wouldn't put money on any of those picks.

The Seahawks over the Saints however is a different story, that game could get ugly pretty quick. I'm predicting a blowout, although maybe not as bad is the first game I don't think this one will be much of a game either. I would LOVE the Saints to win as it would increase the odds of my 49ers making it back to the SB with Seattle out of the equation but it ain't gonna happen.

Ya know....the 49ers had a good game. Colin keeps proving me wrong in my opinions about him. That's cool because I would like to see that team advance.

How the f@&K did Rogers escape that sack and make that big play ? He had guys with hands all over him and he weasels out to make a play. GB was on the verge of making another upset. Nobody made any key mistakes in the last quarter to change anything and that was key to a 49ers win. You can't help but like Rogers, he's a competitor and has boat loads of talent.

Green Bay missed all kinds of opportunity to stop SF on that last drive, and missed a sure INT. No doubt the cold had much to do with how the game was played, but all I kept thinking throughout was GB lacked any sense of urgency and that is what cost them the game.

This weekend will see Seattle, Denver, Indianapolis, and Carolina make it through.

One thing I would like to see change is how the teams are seeded. I didn't want to mention this before because one of my teams was impacted and I didn't want to come across as another forty 'whiner' since we had to go TO Green Bay, but since we won I'll mention it.

IMO they need to rethink how the seeding works, should be based on record instead of of the division winners getting the higher seeds. I'm good with division winners getting in the playoffs even over teams with better records, because the division play still needs to mean something and you want those rivalries to mean something as well. So the teams getting IN don't change, but once they get there I think the seeding should be based on record. It's ridiculous for a 12 win team to have to travel to play an 8 win team, especially in this case where that 12 win team comes from a much stronger division.

I can see the argument both ways really, but I think this approach has fewer issues than the current system.

Nooshingjohn, you hit the nail on the head about the Pack, they lack a sense of urgency. They have for a long time, I'll probably catch it for saying this around here but the brass doesn't get the players motivated, you can say all you want about those guys are professionals or whatever, but they are not motivated for big games. And McCarthy needs to get an offensive coordinator, I mean what was it 4 yards in the first quarter? First three series are 3 and out. And Ted Thompson ... well, I might blow an "O" ring if I go there.... let's just say if Rodgers had the time that Kap had, it starts in the trenches, the only plays the Packers really had were Rodgers running for his life and making something happen, or Lacey making something happen on his own. And you know, a player waits his whole life for a chance at a pick 6 in the final minutes to win a playoff game in front of his home crowd, but the Pack doesn't have the players who can snatch that moment of opportunity and glory and do what it takes to win. Okay, I'm done.

Now that I think about it, every team in the NFC North looked that way this year. The sad thing is that there is SO much talent in that division that is just being wasted by the piss-poor leadership on every team by inept coaching on both sides of the ball... It is as it should be now that the Pack is out, as no team in the North earned the right to be in the playoffs this year IMHO.

The 10-6 Arizona Cardinals should have had the Packers' spot.
