3 NFC title games since he's the Niners head coach. I bet you'd love him if he's coaching your team!
3 NFC title games? Big deal! That guy has been acting like a jerk ever since he became the 4tyWhiners coach. I rooted for him big time when his Colts got to the AFC Championship game against the Steelers. However I can't bring myself to applaud such psychotic behaviors of him during the last few years.
And what's with today's young QBs? The Carolina - SF game was a huge example of how "classy" they are nowadays.
That Cam Newton guy made it look like he's acting instead of playing football. Every time his team got into the huddle, he kneeled on one knee while his teammates bended down to listen to him. Then when they got back to the line of scrimmage, he slowly looked around and sloooowwwwllllllyyyyyy stood up. Like it's a slow motion movie we're watching! What a weenie!
Kaepernick? Yeah, real CLASSY with that touchdown mocking.
And how many SBs have they won? Nada. Look at the Mannings / Brady / Rodgers / Brees... that's how you learn to be a class act, you f@cking young clowns.
On the other hands, young Wilson has showed that he got a steady head. He should be the one wearing the next SB ring. Oh, one more thing, I also hated his coach, ya know, that USC coach who broke all the rules and then abandoned his team to go to Seattle, yep, that one. Anytime his team makes a huge play, the camera automatically turned to show his smirk. Hell, have you won any SB? Again, nada.Gears shared to both living room & bedroom:

Would I prefer that Harbaugh not act like a petulant child when things don't go his way? You betcha. Would I prefer that Kaepernick not be a d-bag and mock Cam Newton after the touchdown? You betcha. Would I prefer that Boldin not jaw after EVERY SINGLE play? Yep, you guess it. But all those are actions that come in the heat of battle, so to speak. Football is a very emotional game, and while I'd rather my team NOT act like that, I can at least understand it when it happens in the moment.
Seattle, on the other hand, just likes to talk trash 24/7, before and after the game. That to me is more calculated and not as forgivable. To draw a parallel, albeit it an extreme one: If you kill somebody in a fit of rage you're definitely gonna pay for it, but if you hunt somebody down and track them for weeks first then the punishment is typically worse because it's premeditated. I'm not saying trash talking is murder, but that's how I look at the two.
Then there's Pete Carroll, the guy who seems to always be surrounded be cheating in one form or another. First he's in clear violation of the rules at USC and then abandons his team to avoid the consequences and take the Seattle job, and now you've got his players being popped on illegal substance bans. Yes I know other teams have as well, but he has MULTIPLE guys out for the same thing.
DMara is right on though, you wanna know how guys should act in the NFL watch guys like Peyton Manning. Yeah I've seen him rip into someone in the middle of the game in the heat of the moment, and most of the time he's right, but I've also seen him walk over and apologize to guys when he's wrong. He doesn't trash talk, he doesn't do stupid touchdown dances, he just goes out there and plays the game. I use him as an example since I've watched him play so long, but guys like Brady and Brees are the same way.
I want more Joe Montana and John Elway and Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, not a$$hats doing stupid superman poses in the end zone. -

Sticking by my Seattle beating Denver to win it all prediction. I see no reason to bet against the Hawks and their homefield advantage next week.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

What? How does Seattle have a home field advantage in a SB in N.J.? Am I missing something (also I fully agree with Assimilated's post above...proper demeanor is necessary and shows class). OK, I SEE, you mean Niners vs. Seahawks. My bad. Yeah, I can see that!
If any team would have a home field advantage playing in N.J. it would have to be the Pats--they're familiar with that field and are used to playing in Shxxty late season weather. And I'm not betting on them being in that game.
Niners, Seahawks = West coast teams. Denver mountain time. The only North East coastal team left is N.E.
As for me, I'm still thinking Seahawks/Denver with Peyton coming home with RING #2!
BUT, WEATHER, could be a factor. So it's a good thing that The Broncos showed us they CAN chew up the clock and run the ball, too!

Hah, yea.........just next week, as it was originally worded. In other words, I'd have a hard time picking against SF on a neutral field, but I think the Hawks have enough in the tank where that home field advantage ices the cake and propels them to the super bowl.
And you could argue that any cold weather team has an equal advantage in NJ; Denver or the Patsies, which should make that game that much more interesting.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

Commercials in anything rubs me the wrong way nowadays....

DVR it! Then, don't start watching until around halftime. It's not like you don't have an hour and a half's worth of crap that needs doin' around the house while the game is being recorded! Then, watch and just zip through the commercials, etc. and you'll end up at about the end of the recording when the game is actually ending.
I do this just about all the time now. Absolutely cannot stand to watch ANYTHING in real time anymore....30-minute shows in a max of 22 minutes; one-hour shows in about 40 minutes. Got no time for commercials here! -

Riiiiiight, because that's not biased at all, geez!
I happen to prefer Wilson over Colin, but that's because of I see how they act, not because of some bunch of random photos on a website. Sorry, but that's the dumbest thing I've seen posted here in a while...
Just so I'm making myself perfectly clear, based on what I've seen my guess is that Wilson is a better human being than Kaepernick, so I'm not disputing that. If I were starting my team and had the pick of the two, I'd take Wilson. Even though I think Kaepernick is playing better right now, I like the class that Wilson has and feel like he's ultimately going to be more stable and a better leader.
What I take issue with is using some random photos taken of each guy to try and make a point, that's just dumb. In the words of Spongebob, that's not only dumb that's also stupid.
So I agree with you, but disagree with your tactics. -

Actually, those aren't random photos, they're ones that Wilson and Kaepernick posted themselves on their own accounts. Unless, of course, CK's account was hacked...like that congressman's from NY. ;-) -
They're still just random photos, regardless of where they came from. My point is, you can't draw the kinds of conclusion like that from looking at photos. I remember early last year when people were calling Kaepernick a thug QB because of all the tattoos, only to later realize later that the tattoos were of bible verses.
My point is actions speaker louder than words, or in this case pictures... -
I think we're better served thinking about that game than its QBs.
What do people think about the opinion that the teams in the NFC, Niners and Seahawks are superior, more physically dominant than the AFC's Broncos or Pats? I read some such verse today and I'm not sure what I think about that. I mean didn't both Denver and the Pats look pretty aggressive for most of their respective games?
The idea above was that either NFC team might blow out the AFC champion?

I do believe so because I still believe defense wins championship.Gears shared to both living room & bedroom:

LOL, the 49ers of Seahawks aren't going to 'blow out' anybody. I think both of those teams are clearly better defensively than Denver or NE, so if it turns into a defensive battle then I'd go with the NFC in the SB. But neither of those teams have played an offense like Denver though, so keep that in mind.
I think this is fairly typical, better defense in the NFC and better offense in the AFC.
I'll also say this, I think Denver could beat one of those teams, I don't think NE can get the job done. If NE beats Denver this weekend the Super Bowl will be won by the NFC, I feel more confident in that prediction than anything else I've posted in this thread. -
This is why you can't just take some random pictures and draw conclusions from them. Thank you for illustrating my point! -
Well played. I did not research before I posted. It will be a good game for sure. -

If both my teams win this weekend it's gonna be a strange super bowl for me. I've been a 49er fan longer (since I can remember as a kid), but really want Manning to get this second ring to shut up all the critics. If it comes to it I'll likely be rooting for Denver, but regardless of the outcome I'll be both pleased and disappointed. I thought I was going to have the quandary last year but no such luck.
Ultimately the chances of both teams winning this weekend though are low. Denver SHOULD beat NE, but they've found a way to make things closer than they need to be and lose some of those games this year. SF winning IN Seattle is a long shot at best. On a neutral field I'd say it would be a very close game, but at home Seattle has a huge advantage and especially against SF as they're always on full alert for those games. Sure, someone like Tampa or Arizona may sneak up there and give them a game, but they're always up for SF and have beaten them mercilessly the last two games there. I'm not giving up on my teams, but I also know the odds... -
I'm no sports expert but I think the game has changed from being all about the players and more about the coaching staff. I'm from Boston and can see how a good coaching team can change the out come of the game. Yes the players are very important but how the player work together as a team maybe even more important.
How did the Pat's get a running game in two games? A good running game and Tom and a great coach will be hard to beat. -
Both games this weekend should be great to watch, I highly doubt either one will be boring, or a blow out. I'm just hoping Denver gets in, but I will be honest I like all four teams. This has been one of the better years in football..Polk Audio SDA 2.3tl Fully Hot Rodded. 😎

I really like the fact that the 4 teams left are the best 4 teams in football, no fluke team in the playoffs this year. I wish they'd do more in the NFL to emphasize the regular season, I hate it when some 9-7 team sneaks into the playoffs and then gets lucky a few times and ends up winning the super bowl. It's usually a good story, but renders moot alot of the work those other teams do all year long to win 12 or 13 games...
-
I'm hoping for a little snow or bad weather for the SB,, something different for a bit
-
While I love snow and bad weather in football, I don't want it in the championship game. The whole point of the super bowl to me is to find the best team in football, the team that at the end of the year the rest of the league can look at and say "Yes, that's the best of us". I feel like bad weather can interfere with that. You get conditions bad enough and end up with a sloppy game and the better team may not win.
-
I wish we were all close enough to watch the game together. It would be a great time!
