As a Seahawks fan, I was also embarrassed with Sherman's comments post-game. That said, I've never seen him go THAT off before, so I'm sure there's a lot of back story we don't know about. You're right, though... Sherman needs to hang around Wilson more.

I'm glad for my boys. Denver: STRONG offense, relatively weak defense. Seattle: STRONG defense, relatively weak offense (for the past few weeks anyway-- stems from poor offensive line play. Wilson can't do much scrambling for his life on every play)

Harbaugh surprisingly gracious in interview immediately following the loss. I still think he's one of the biggest babies in sports, but I'll give him credit there.

Say what you will.. it was a pretty damn entertaining game. GO HAWKS!

I watched the Kaepernick post game interview...

Seriously, he can't turn his hat around and take the headphones off long enough to do an official press interview?

You know, maybe I've been watching guys like Montana, Rice, Elway, Brady and Manning so long that I've become spoiled on how I think players should act and conduct themselves. Maybe my expectation are simply unrealistic, and I should get used to asshats like Sharman running off at the mouth...

People seem to think that it's not a problem if you can back it up but I disagree. Manning was far and away the best QB in the league this year, and you don't hear him saying things like "Yeah we're gonna go torch that defense"

Maybe a little class is just too uch to ask for though.

He doesn't really care how he appears to adults. The goal is to look cool to his peers of similar 15 year old mentality.

First thoughts on the Super Bowl from a Broncos fan perspective:
The Seahawks defense is so good that they play, as Carroll admitted a non disguised defense. If this hold true for the SB, then Manning will quickly be able to read and find what he believes will be the open man. Broncos receivers better be prepared to adjust their route timing due to muggings at the line of scrimmage. Denver's run game will be window dressing only as making holes in the Seahawks d-line is pretty rare.

Defensively, getting as many pads on Lynch as possible on every play is crucial. In other words play like they did against the run today, but with double the effort. Pass rush, do what they can to recreate the conditions that the 49er's put on Wilson.

Normally, I believe that a stout defense usually wins, but Manning is one of those rare players that can make even the perfect defensive call an exercise in futility.

It's going to make for a potentially amazing chess match.

I think it's gonna be a tough match for Denver, but not an impossible one. The way to play a defense like Seattle is to run a lot of crossing routes so to minimize the impact of the backs being physical at the line of scrimmage. They did that today against NE and has some success with it, although the Seattle defense is a lot better.

I think the outcome of that game is going to be determined a lot by how the game is called. If the refs let Seattle have their way with the receivers then it's gonna be a long day for Denver, and if they call it too close then Seattle doesn't have a chance.

Did we all watch the same games today ?

Denver....perfectly executed....controlled the clock....kept Brady off the field.....defense stepped up.

Seattle and 49ers....sloppy play all around both teams. Disappointed in Wilsons play today......Seattles defense was strong but the offense suffered. 49ers also a strong defense but lacking offensively too. Bad calls.....which I think 49ers got the short end of the stick there. In the end in was the 49ers game to lose....and they didn't disappoint there.

Halfway into the 3rd quarter, I told myself I don't see either of these teams beating Denver. Which will make for a boring Super Bowl game imho.

Well SF and Seattle obviously didn't play that poorly all year. I wouldn't base anything on one game. I'm sure Seattle will address it's shortcomings in that game, they have 2 weeks to prepare and I think they come to play. No way Denver wins easily.

Manning has been more consistent and better under pressure than ever, most of this season. If he can maintain that composure he will give Seattle some fits. On the other hand, if Seattle can turn up the 'pressure', squash the run and force Manning to pass every down, he will be "sacked" and sacked and sacked and the game will be a low scoring mess.

I can't decide which game we will see. But I suspect, as I said above, Manning is on a "mission" and it's going to take a LOT to shut him down, an awful lot because the goal is so very very close!

I keep hearing that he's a smart guy and all and I don't think his intelligence is in dispute, I just think he's a (albeit smart) classless piece of garbage. I also keep hearing things like "Hey if you can back it up then you can talk all you want", I also don't agree with this. Just because a guy's a good cornerback doesn't give them the right to say whatever they want. If you're gonna go along that line of thinking, then the next time he looses a game or a guy catches a TD pass on him them I wanna hear him say, just as passionately, "I'm a mediocre cornerback and we lost the game because I didn't do my job, it's all on me!".

You learn alot about people both in the face of adversity and in the throws of victory where people tend to drop their inhibitions and show their true colors. Doing the choke thing and jawing at Crabtree right after the play and then the post game interviews really showed the kind of character that Sherman is, he's a piece of garbage plain and simple.

The part that rubbed me the wrong way in the interview is where he bashes Crabtree and calls him a 'sorry receiver'. I'm fine with you calling yourself the best cornerback in the league and would probably agree with that assessment. Where you lose me is when you start bashing the other player, especially someone like Crabtree with what that guy has gone through to get back on the field this season.

Yeah was never a Peyton manning fan, but I did like the Elway Broncos era now lets see if Payton wins the bowl he will be the first Qb to win one on two different teams correct? I hated Farve until he became A Viking but he came close to doing the same thing had the play calling on the Saints game not get called in thier favor. Sherman strikes me as a person just waiting to get burned go Peyton torch that clown , and Percy you don't deserve a ring you didn't earn go Broncos.

Ken, I get the photo you posted above, and have gone out of my way here and elsewhere to state that I don't care for Kaepernick, you can start by checking the post at the top of this page. I also called him out earlier in this thread for his mocking newton with the TD last week. That crap has no place in the game, period.

I hate to tell you this, but your Seahawks are some of the worst at it. All of Sherman's antics aside, you've got guys like Lynch walking into the end zone and Tate taunting other players as he's running down the field.

Honestly I can let most of that stuff that happens between the whistles go, but when you act like Sherman did in several post game interviews that's inexcusable.

You've already tried the picture game once in this thread and been called on it and admitted posting before you got the whole story. I said it then and I'll say it again, drawing conclusions from a picture is dangerous. Here, try this - go watch the post game interviews by Sherman and Kaepernick from yesterday and tell me who the bigger asshat is. While you make the determination understand that Kaepernick has just had his season ended and Sherman is going to play in the biggest game of his life.

I'm not condoning Shermans comments but there is some history. There is no love lost between him and Crabtree. Supposedly there was some confrontation at a charity softball game this summer. At the end of this game, RS patted him on the **** and extended a handshake saying "good game " and got a hand to the facemask. RS is a young guy, caught up in the moment of breaking up the play that won them the game. Adrenaline is running high and maybe he over-reacted. I'm out on this. The best offence in the NFL is meeting the best defense in the NFL for the Superbowl. Should be a good game. Hope we can agree on that much...

I'm sure NO ONE here acted the fool in their early 20's. And, if by chance you did at some point, were you slapped with a "classless piece of garbage" label? Kind of harsh if you were.

It's a game. Get perturbed at something a bit more important. There are so many asshats in this sport, you can't swing a dead cat on a Sunday without hitting one. Give me your favorite team and I'll rattle off at least 3 major dipsh*ts on that roster.

I'm not crying, just sharing my opinion, but hey thanks for making it personal. That article is sone dudes opinion, it doesn't put anything into perspective, just shares an additional point of view, one with which I happen to disagree.

I hold our public facing figures like athletes to a higher standard of behavior because they're role models for so many kids who look up to them. Some people would argue that class and the nfl are at odds with each other, I'd like to believe otherwise.

You Seattle guys have been dishing it out all season, bashing Harbaugh and Kaepernick every chance you get, but hey when it's your guy it's different. All the sudden he's just a kid caught up in the emotion of things.

To jephdood, these guys aren't just anyone like you or me. They're playing in front of millions of viewers and kids, some of which potentially see them as role models or guys they aspire to be someday. So yes, I hold them to a higher standard of conduct because of the opportunities they've been given and the visibility they have

Well, if you're holding NFL players to a higher standard, you'll be disappointed more often than not. Direct your kids to better role models I guess.

Of course we, as "Seattle guys", will stick up for our players. Why wouldn't we? And why wouldn't we bash a crybaby like Harbaugh and a wanna-be thug like Kaepernick? :-) That's what division rivalries are all about. :-)

Now, if you'll excuse me... I need to take a mirror selfie kissing my biceps in a backwards flat-billed ball cap. PEACE!

Actually I don't have kids, I just thought the general consensus was that players serve as role models for kids, especially given all the outreach programs that the NFL has for youth. Thanks for the parenting tip though.

The difference between us though is that you guys feel the need to defend your players and I don't. One could argue that this makes me less 'loyal' to my team, I'd say I'm just more open minded. I've said before (in this thread and elsewhere) that I don't like the way Kaepernick acts and presents himself and that I don't want him as my QB and I ripped Owens a few years back when he pulled that crap of running out to the star in Texas Stadium. That's just it, you can't call Kaepernick a thug and then get all in a hissy when I complain about Sherman.

I'll admit that I probably over-reacted a bit to the Sherman comments, 'classless piece of garbage' was a bit much and I'd take that back if I could. With his trash talking and taunting on the field though he's always rubbed me the wrong way, then you had the infamous interview with Skip Bayless last year. The crap he pulled Sunday was just too much for me.

All the racial crap that people are posting on twitter though needs to stop, this has nothing to do with race, it's just one guy acting like a clown.

I know these guys are talented but I also want to be proud of the players and people my team puts out on the field. I'd just like to see my guys win and lose with class, show respect for your opponents and show respect for your teammates by not making it all about yourself. Don't tell me I can't get that in the NFL, I've been a Colts fan since before Peyton showed up so I know it's possible...

I don't really think Kaepernick is a thug. I don't know him. Harbaugh on the other hand.. ;-)

I get what you're saying. I really do. But the NFL really is different than other sports when it comes to decorum and sportsmanship. Maybe it's the violent nature of the sport.. maybe it's the fact that there are only 16 regular season games and emotions run super high each week.. maybe it's just a culture that's been evolving over decades.. constant stupid back and forth over social media surely doesn't help situations either. I dunno.

I'm not overly concerned with Sherman's little rant. They caught him 20 seconds after one of (if not the) biggest play of his career. I'd probably have been amped up too.

I was more disgusted by Bellicheat blatantly stating that Welker intended to hurt Talib in that collision during their game. Those picks on crossing routes happen ALL the time, and he didn't go low, so how the hell did he 'intend' to bust up Talib's knee??? Typical lack of class from captain ratty sweatshirt.

In regards to the SB, the 2 teams I picked made it, but I'm sure hoping I'm wrong on the final result. Peyton deserves one more before it's all said and done. I'd like to see him get it this year.
