I think the fact that 9 of 10 teams in the Big 12 speaks to the depth of the conference. I know there are 35 bowl games yada yada, but when 90% of your teams go, not bad.

The SEC is a top heavy conference and the Big 12 is a deep conference, plain and simple.

Again, you guys are referencing the two teams that illustrate my point of the Big 12 being good: A&M and W.Va. (along with TCU). You have to really believe in coincidence to think that all of a sudden A&M is great and W.Va. is terrible. You don't think changing conferences had anything to do with their change of fate???

OU over-rated?? They are 10-2 with losses to #1 ND and #5 K. St. and they are only ranked #11. This is over-rated? WOW!

fella, A&M lost how many games last year in the second half? they did get a new defensive coordinator this year that's doing one awesome job, the other guy got fired because of all the terrible loses from last year, along with their head coach. WVU got shredded several times by big 12 teams this year, even when they beat Baylor they looked stupid!, then all of a sudden they play a good game against Oklahoma? Or was oklahoma exposed by an awful WVU team? I'm thinking they were more exposed than not. that's just what I think.

this WVU losing 5 in a row, giving up 49 points on average, that would be a thrashing for five straight weeks.

If you call losing in once in double OT and once by one point a thrashing, I'd have to agree.

Over the past 4 regular seasons W.Va. has averaged 3 losses per season. This year they lost 5 (all in conference).
Over the past 4 regular seasons A&M has averaged 6 losses per season (Roughly 5 per season in conference). This year they lost 2.

That's breaking some very recent trends!

I do agree with you about the bowls being different. They're not the week-in, week-out battle. Being given a month off to prepare changes things a little. Doesn't give either an advantage, just makes it different.

For the record, I'm not necessarily saying that the Big 12 is better than the SEC, I'm just saying the SEC isn't the be-all, end-all that most people act like it is.

exalted512: I don't mean any disrespect to A&M. They've had a great season and Aggieland should be very excited. Just using them as an example of Big 12 vs SEC.

I call losing 49-14, 55-14, 55-34 thrashings, I'm glad you pointed out their two close loses though because totally forgot about those. My point is that WVU getting completely destroyed by those 3 teams, or over 50 three times in a year for that matter, then they "sneak up" on Oklahoma? don't think so, Oklahoma just had their defense exposed big time by a bad WVU. plus Oklahoma has allowed over 20 points in 8 games, that won't win a national championship because after a while somebody will see your defense isn't really good at all, then you lose.

And I'm not saying the SEC is better then the big 12 either bc Texas put a whipping on Ole Miss and that is saying a lot bc Ole Miss hasn't been the SEC's doormat like they were last year.

In my opinion I think A&M has a strong upper hand in the game due to Manziel just being himself and Swope the same, they may give up 4 td's but they'll expose the Sooners defense without trying.

I'm sticking by my score, 56-28 or 45-27 Aggies, maybe Oklahoma scores more I don't know. When Oklahoma played ND, they met a brick wall defense and scored 13 points, their season low I might add, if Aggies play anything like ND did on D Oklahoma won't get over 30.

He had an interview on the DP show last week, sounds like a good kid. At this point I don't think we'll ever see a defensive player win the award, if it was going to happen it would have been this year.

I would have gone the other way, but I"m still good with the vote, hard to go wrong with either one.

At the risk of sounding biased, I don't know how Teo was even in the running, tbh. Other than his off the field story and playing for Notre Dame. He was a good player and a great person, but how he was a candidate is beyond me.

    Stolen:
Dat Nguyen's 1998 team won the Big 12 and beat #1 Kansas State and #2 Nebraska along the way. His stats:
    147 tackles
    20 tackles for loss
    4 INTs
    4 sacks
    4 forced fumbles
    1 TD

Te'o's 2012 stats while playing nobody in the top 5:
    103 tackles
    5.5 tackles for loss
    7 INTs
    2 sacks
    0 forced fumbles
    0 TDs

Nguyen wasn't even considered for the Heisman.

See Bold: Answered your own question:smile:

Those two things plus the fact that just weren't many Heisman-worthy players this year. This was a no-brainer in my opinion. Anyone who didn't list Manziel in their Top 5 should have their voting priviledges revoked. Seriously, he's not one of the top 5 players in the country???

@exalted, the reason they wanted Te'o to win it is because he plays for Notre Dame, if they had lost 4 games he wouldn't have had a second look.

Johnny did deserve it, but i've stopped watching the ceremony, and didn't know when to vote but I'm glad he won it and shut the turds up with freshman phobia:) Can't wait to see how he does against Oklahoma.

What a near massive collapse by my 49ers! I think I had three strokes and two heart attacks in the last 20 minutes!

Tom Brady is just an unreal QB, and even though my 49ers pulled it out in the end I genuinely believe that the Patriots are the best team in football.
