Nice speakers but way too much IMO. I paid $30 for mine at a yard sale, granted that was a screaming deal. See them all the time for $75-100. -
What are the going price for rt2000i's???

Maybe a topic for another thread, but - have you ever compared your 8Ts to 10As or any of the passive radiator models? The 8Ts are first time I've seen a ported design used instead of a PR and I wonder how that affects the speaker.

The 10's and even the 7's blow away the 8's, no comparison IMO..

Saw the listing for the 3.1's. Can anyone verify the sellers claim of shattering glass with these type of speakers? I wonder if he meant that the speaker tipped over and smashed his adult beverage.
I think the lamps slowly rattled off the end table and shattered. I see plenty of these adds that tend to shake the whole house, break glass, so loud neighbors can hear them, etc, that the only time I can say anything remotely close to above is when I went to a small concert in the wheat fields and was about 50 ft away from stage. The bass could be felt so hard it was astonishing. I wanted those speakers so I could actually make that kind of claim. -

Thanks - I'll let those 8T's go (I already have peerless 10s and RD0'd 7s!).

Just spotted a very clean pair of 2.3's (can't tell if they are tl's but from the tweets I don't think so)
At the most insane price (high) I have ever seen.
http://bakersfield.craigslist.org/ele/5376024719.html
But the seller does have a beautiful set of pictures of the speakers -
The seller does have a nice set of pictures and a complete description of things not mentioned by other listings."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"Harry / Marietta GA

The 2.3's are not tl's

In my opinion this is a good price for the speaker. I've never broken anything but a tweeter with mine...... I love mine. I got mine form up that way for $450 with a Onkyo receiver, projector and cheap RCA sub/surround speakers I cannto seem to give away......HT/2Channel: Emotiva MMC-1, Adcom GFA-555II, Polk SDA 3.1's, Teac TN-300 TT, Polk Center and Sub.

Those 4s rarely pop up, I'd buy them if I didn't already have a pair. @mhardy6647 did you say you missed yours?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

From the ad: "Does not have interconnect cord required but easily purchased online "
Since they're pin/blade, not so easily purchased online. Good excuse to go with Speakons!Jay

There was a pair of SRS 2's in CO for sale for that price that were upgraded with Sonicaps. Price is a smidge high on those.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Honestly, I've only heard the 1B and I'd say yes to that. Although, the jury appears to be out on the 1C, it seems the upgrade to those would be 2.3 and up.
They have more bass presence to me and more of the SDA effect.2-channelBelles 22A Pre, Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 2, Marantz SA8005, Pro-Ject RPM-10 Turntable, Pro-Ject Phono Box DS3B, Polk Audio Legend L800's, AudioQuest Cable throughout. -

Thanks for that. I've never heard any of the bigger boys, but have had 1c's and 2b's for many years. Those srs's are some fine looking speakers and I'm about 3 hours from vero beach. If he's willing to come down on the price, could be time for a road trip.

That pair of SRS 2's has been on EBay for weeks, the seller will take less. A reasonable offer to me would be $500. and go from there.
The SRS 2's will trump the 1C's in about every category "if" they are in the right spot with some breathing room.
The 1C's would be a better fit in a smaller space and are a bit easier to drive, the SRS 2's are a 4 ohm load and require a solid amp to drive them properly.

Hey Mike,
Could you define "the right spot with some breathing room"?
I plan to upgrade from my 1As in the future.
1Cs, 3.1TLs, SRS2s, 2.3TLs, big boys?
Amplification is not an issue.
My room is 18.5'W x 22'L x 9'H with no restrictions.
Speakers would be on the 18.5' wall.
What would be a good fit?
