Vintage Monitor and SDA Speaker Deals

I think the SRS 2 would be a great fit. I upgraded to my SRS 2 from a pair of 2Bs, and it was a huge upgrade. I loved my 2Bs, but the SRS 2 is a whole different monster. I actually had the original SRS, but preferred the SRS 2 in my space, although it's half the size yours is (24 x 11 x 8).
I think the SRS 2 is better than most other speakers you can get for $1,000, but I agree that the market has these in the $500-600 range. Which is awesome for buyers. There is no better value on the used speaker market, in my opinion. -
Hey Mike,
Could you define "the right spot with some breathing room"?
I plan to upgrade from my 1As in the future.
1Cs, 3.1TLs, SRS2s, 2.3TLs, big boys?
Amplification is not an issue.
My room is 18.5'W x 22'L x 9'H with no restrictions.
Speakers would be on the 18.5' wall.
What would be a good fit?
Thanks
You definitely have the "right" spot, I was referring to room size in my comments, any SDA's should shine in a room of that magnitude, especially the larger SRS models (SRS 2s, 2.3s or 1.2s) provided you have the power, which it looks like you have that covered.

That pair of SRS 2's has been on EBay for weeks, the seller will take less. A reasonable offer to me would be $500. and go from there.
The SRS 2's will trump the 1C's in about every category "if" they are in the right spot with some breathing room.
The 1C's would be a better fit in a smaller space and are a bit easier to drive, the SRS 2's are a 4 ohm load and require a solid amp to drive them properly.
He's not really wanting to come off the $1000 price, $750 was my best offer. Looks like he's also listed a pair of srs towers for $3000. They absolutely do look well cared for, just too much cash for the 3 hour drive.McCormack DNA-1 Amp, Parasound Halo P5 Pre Amp, Denon DVD 2900 CD player, Adcom GDA 700 DAC, VPI Traveler TT with Denon 103R cartridge, Lounge Audio MKiii phono pre and Copla SUT, Polk SDA SRS 3.1 TL speakers, Tributaries series 8 IC's and speaker cable. -

Hold out for some 2.3tls. One thing a lot of people don't think about is they use only the 6510 driver through out. I learned when I had a 6511 go out on my 1C .Mike Reeter wrote: »How much are these srs 2's worth, or is that in the ballpark? treasure.craigslist.org/ele/5373611323.html

Obviously he doesn't want to sell them too bad, I would move on and as PolkieMan suggested, look for a pair of 2.3TLs, you can't go wrong with them.

From the ad: "Does not have interconnect cord required but easily purchased online "
Since they're pin/blade, not so easily purchased online. Good excuse to go with Speakons!
So, did anyone in this thread win these? They went for $260.

SDA CRS, not sure what version looks like pin/blade - $60

Good lord, me either. I have RTA-12's, SDA 2B's, Monitor 5's, and Monitor 4's all in the same studio apartment. I really want to get these RTA-12s out of here, let alone pick up another pair of Polks.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

If they are the original SDA-CRS model, I might pick them up for extra drivers. The CRS+ models would be different than I could use though. But yeah, I'm in the same boat as you guys, way too many speakers...

I already have 1c's and 2b's. Thought I would post that for others looking. There is also a pair of 2.3 in Santa Barbara? He's asking 1600, but they do look nice. Too much for me, but I will have a pair some day!
