Vintage Monitor and SDA Speaker Deals

I would like to see no more than $250. They look to be the older blade/blade so the new sonic film caps/mill resistors on the crossover will cost at least $300 for both you doing the work. They look real clean so they are worth it. You don't have to do this right away but it will make a difference. Plan on replacing the tweeters also later on.

You may also want to consider using Dayton caps from Parts Express. Good caps that are inexpensive (relative to the cost of the speakers). I installed them in a pair of SDA 2's (side by side tweeter model) and they sound really good. YMMV

I have a set of sl2500's they are black. I believe the sl3000 are black also. The SL2000 are silver looking which may turn somewhat yellow with age.

Polk developed the SL1000 in the early 80s, followed by the SL2000. Around 1987 Polk began work on the SL3000/Tri-Laminate Tweeter design. They were introduced 1989 I believe, and the SL2500 was a less expensive version of it. They appear to have the same or similar magnet structures and voice coils, but the dome material is different between the two. That's why the RDO-198-1 is the replacement for both the 2500 and 3000.

See if you can get a photo with a grill off, however looking at the rear images makes me think they are of the same variety as mine, 3 6.5s, dual SL-2000 blade/blade...but I could be wrong. I paid $120 Canadian for mine with one dead tweeter however.

Yea I don't need them. Not sure I really want them. But I sent an email anyway to try and get a picture with no grill and the interconnect.

I paid $80 shipped which was a great buy as this speaker is wonderful with my SDA speakers. David also called the op and convinced him to ship it to Georgia. David is always helping people in many ways.

These are 2A if they have the blade/blade. That's a lot of good sound for $150, even without the interconnect. You can jam some bare speaker wire in the sockets (top blade on one speaker to bottom blade on other and vise versa) until you can build a new one with better wire and speakon connectors. I'd buy them if all the drivers worked.
