Thanks! I was planning on putting all 3 subs in and putting the LSiC on top of the center sub, but... it is looking like 2 subs is going to be a much better fit and still PLENTY of low end. After getting the screen and the mains placed, I just don't think I can fit all 3 without it being a major pain... I will probably go to Skylan, the company who made my other stands, and get something made up for the LSiC.

What is that you put on the floor? Looks like squares of plywood. Do you glue them down and then put carpet on top?

Not sure why I would take that personally? Are you thinking a picture on the wall? Or the actual thing I thought about a bar down there, but there really wasn't any room with everything else we are going to do with the room. But I will definitely have a refrigerator on the other side of the wall stocked with drinks

The floor tiles are called dricore. They have HDPE on the bottom in a waffle grid pattern that lifts the tiles off the floor to create an area for moisture to evaporate or a minimal amount of water to flow. It also helps break the cold transfer from the concrete into the floor. It makes a huge difference.

I will say, after getting my projector back up, I really want to go 1080p and something with more lumens... Properly configured the Sharp only puts out about 350-400 lumens if I remember correctly. The picture quality is amazing, but I could use a little more output. But... That will have to wait a few months! I need to save up some $$ and recover from this over budget project!

In regards to the projector, I have to be extremely careful what I choose because this Sharp XV-Z12000U is one of the most cinematic projectors I have ever seen! The motion is so smooth and natural and still puts out an amazing picture! It was $12k when it came out several years ago, so it better be!!! Although I paid much much much less for it used!!!

Don I think your overthinking a new PJ lol. If it was me, I would get everything installed and then start thinking accoustic treatments you can build yourself.
IMHO your like 90% to where you want to be all the way around. I would look at accoustic treatments, modding your current LSi's and be done with it.
There is always something better out there to chase, but that last 10% will cost you 90% more than all the gear you have now lol...."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." I know I know.... The projector is different though I do think I am going to get in touch with VR3 to have him mod my 9s and my LSiC and go from there.
But the PJ I am looking at is a little over 2k and it won't be for another 6 months or so.

Good Day,
Great job on your basement reno the bold color looks fantastic.
We had done ours a couple of years ago it?s a lot of work and I can tell from the pictures you put a lot of effort into it.
If I could make one suggestion it would be to paint the closet door behind the TV / Screen the same color as the walls.
Our house is a spilt level and we had closed in the space underneath the stairs for some storage area. It?s little over 4? high; so to grain access I had cut a door down to fit and trimmed it out painted it white to match the other doors. Well we found it kind of distracting so we painted it the same color as the walls and it blends in to the point you hardly notice it.
Also I like the way you build your gear rack under the stairs looks perfect great use of space.
Cheers Roger -

Very nice job Don and nice to see you posting again, But I have to agree that white door behind the TV looks out of place and might be a distraction while watching TV. JMO.
Glad to here those crossovers for your SDA SRS 2's are finely breaking in, It dose take awhile don't it.
BTW: I know it's a bit late but I think you forgot some things, A hide-a-way stage with flashing lights a disco ball and stripper pole for when the wife and kid aren't home and of course some kind of black velvet painting. I think it's federal law in order to keep your man card.:cheesygrin:“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” ~ Mark Twain -

That will definitely help. And If you can make that door darker, it would help a lot as well.design is where science and art break even. -
Carpet is installed!!! I was a bit surprised at the difference it made it the room, but it really took it to another level. I have noticed that I do definitely need some basic room treatments down here though
I took some pics of the empty room and then one with some gear setup with my cell phone so excuse the quality. Anyways, here they are! I can't wait to get my second sub and the rest of my speakers in place!
