Hey guys! Its been a few months since I have been on the forums here. Long story short, work has been CRAZY and I have been working on a little project in my basement! Hopefully I will continue to be able to get back on the forums here over the next month or so, but in the meantime, here is a quick photo update of my project! It will be a combined Home Theater/Family Room area... Carpet is coming in Tuesday! Then a couple hours trimming and I will be ready to put in all the equipment and shake the neighborhood

Hey Don, I'd be glad to take that parasound off your hands for no charge  lol....

Interested to hear what you are still running speaker wise. Last time I saw your setup you had SDA's, MMG's, LSi 9's and a bunch of other stuff.

I bet it will look dead sexy in that room!

Oh, I will still be running the parasound in the theater  All of my gear is pretty much the same minus some cable changes. I did add a Dune HD media player which is pretty awesome for playing movies from a NAS device... Just gotta get everything moved and setup! The SDAs will be staying in the living room along with all my other 2 channel gear. I will be running all 3 subs in the theater, once I finish the second TC with dual passives that is! I have the sealed and one with dual passives built right now. It has been a LONG project, but it is very exciting to be nearing the end and reaching the point of "Sit Down and Enjoy it!"

I will say though, I am VERY tempted by a set of LSiM 703s with the whole 6 month free financing promo going on right now. I can say for sure the wife would very much prefer them over the SDAs in the living room, but we shall see. I would find it near impossible to take down my SDAs! They are getting to sound so smooth at sweet now that all the crossover components are finally breaking in...

Yeah and you have the best stands for the 703s too. MMGs still in house or no?

Still have the MMGs upstairs tucked away in the corner. I pull them out every now and then, but the MMGs really need a big sub for my taste  I am still contemplating the LSiM 703 for the basement theater to replace the LSi9 on the front stage. I never really did get the 703 integrated well with my subs when I had them here on demo. That might be the sweet spot for dual duty HT/Music. My only concern is integration with the rest of my standard LSi series when listening to multichannel music.

The SDAs in the living room are so big, and the wife doesn't necessarily care for the room they take up... But... I will be moving the sub and the Movie Rack down to the basement once everything is finished. I can then move the SDAs slightly closer together and that should make difference. Such a tough decision....

Awesome... I am REALLY tempted by the LSiM series. I might just pop for the 707s  We shall see..... They look to be an amazing speaker!!! I might get the 707s for the 2 channel rig actually and save up for a full LSiM setup for the theater. Decisions... Decisions...

Yeah... but Wisconsin is such a far drive just to come out and listen to some speakers  Now... If I could get you to come to a gathering and haul them along, then we would be in business!!! But I wouldn't ask that of anybody... Thats a big set of speakers to haul around! I think we could probably get a lot more people if we do it in the summer... I will probably start a thread on it once my basement is completely done. Don't want to set anything up and have something stupid happen.

Its such a tough call. I may just upgrade the crossovers in my LSi series. Who knows! I need to get everything up an running again before I make a final decision. But I think the room would look so nice with a set of LSiMs up front!

OK, So I couldn't wait for carpet!! Installed the TV got most everything on the audio side hooked up. Hung the side surrounds. Still have to find some mounts for the LSi7s to hang from the ceiling for the surround back channels. But I can run without them initially... Carpet is coming on Tuesday!!!

    Is that TV centered?

Question... what's behind the door and how did you mount it (TV)? Door no longer accessible I take it?

How far back are you sitting from the TV? Looks like those side surrounds are really far back. Get a bigger TV. :p

My vote would be a retractable projector screen and a projector myself...

The TV is 50" and yes it is centered! It is mounted on an articulating mount that I can pull away from the wall for access to the storage area behind it. But.... I just mounted the projector and the screen this morning  I'll post some pics later. The screen pulls down in front of the TV. I can use the TV when I want and pull down the screen for movies...

The side surrounds are 12 feet back from the screen. I could move them forward, but they will be directly to the left and right of the couch when it is in the room where they are at right now. The room is kinda visually tricky! The rear surrounds will be ~4 feet behind that.

I try! The room overall is 32' long, but I only have this end for the theater... The rest of it is family room space. Kids play area, entertaining....

I will say, even with just the LSi9 and the LSiFX in place, it sounds pretty darn good! I forget how much low end the 9s have!

I measured the distance on the rear surrounds and they are at 13 feet, so a little further than I remembered, but still will be next to the seating. Here are a couple pics of the projector/screen.
