The boards still haven't come in yet, here's a snippet of the last e-mail I got from them on 04/19/12.
Thank you for your e-mail and inquiry.
We have experienced some issues during the remake.
We expect to complete the order early next week and ship immediately upon completion.
    Please excuse the delay.

I still haven't gotten them yet or even a notice that they shipped and at this point I don't know what's going on and it's really starting to piss me off. I don't know what the problem is, this is my 4th order with these guys and the last 3 came out great and on time. Looks like I'm going to have to get on the phone Monday and raise some hell. It's been a month since they got the boards back:mad:

Hey guys, Bad news on the boards. Just so you know what's been going on here's the e-mail reply's I've gotten from the manufacture when asked about the status of the boards and yes it's the same manufacture that made the last batch of boards.

    Received on 3/26/12
    Regarding your order #XXXXXX

We have received the returned boards and have initiated a remake of this order.

Your order is in progress and expected to ship early next week.

    Regarding your order #XXXXXX

We are writing to inform you that after inspecting the remade boards, we have concluded that the boards are comparable in quality to the boards which you returned.

Please reply and advise whether we should ship the boards, remake them or cancel the order.

    Quality Control

And this was my reply this morning.
    To whom it may concern,

Since you "have concluded that the boards are comparable in quality to the boards which you returned" which after inspecting the boards I sent back you decided to remake them due to the poor quality and took over a month to do so. This is obviously unacceptable and DO NOT ship them.

As far as doing a remake or canceling the order and refunding my money, I'm going to need a couple days to decide as I need to speak with my customers and see what they want to do. I will give you my decision by Friday at the latest.

    A very disappointed customer.

So I guess it comes down to 2-3 choices.
    1. Have them remake the boards again and hope they get it right this time (I really don't understand what there problem is) .

    2. Cancel the order and hope I get all my money back (most likely not as I'm sure they'll charge me something for this fiasco). Then see if I can find someone else that can make them. The down side to this option is it would take a lot longer and cost me more as I would want to order a set of boards as a test so I can check out the quality and workmanship before ordering a batch run.

    3. Cancel the order, Take the financial hit and call it a day and be done with the whole thing. I really don't like this option as I would like to keep these boards around for you guys.

Anyway I would like to hear what you guys think about this situation.

BTW: I posted this over in the Club House for a broader perspective I hope.

Any way the boards came in late yesterday, Let's just say I'm not pleased:frown:. Of the ones I've checked out electrically there fine but cosmetically there crap

I'm on the fence about ordering the boards: I would be stocking them for a later time when (if) I owned a pair of speakers they'd fit. Currently have 1Bs which are--I guess--not compatible. Therefore I'm "probably" not a potential customer...

...but if I were, I'd rather have electrically-good but cosmetically-funky boards than NO REPLACEMENT AT ALL.

If my opinion as a spectator counts for anything--and perhaps it does not--I'd ask them to re-make the boards, and return the original 25 "defective" pairs to you as compensation for the aggravation and delay. Sooner or later you'll sell all of them. Maybe even a pair to me.

How bad is the new batch? I don't get what the problem is either since they do this for a living and they turned out a decent product on previous orders. Maybe they could send you one or two of the latest batch for inspection.

There's also another option: cancel the order and what ever they charge you (and it may well be nothing since they have the boards and your money), amortize it over the cost of the new boards to those waiting to buy once you find someone to make them.

Of course, everyone would have to agree, but since they have the boards (both batches) and you have nothing they should either give you a full refund or charge a nominal fee. Since they agreed to remake them they clearly agree that the quality is substandard.

Here's what going on, I asked them to send me some pictures of the remade boards which they did along with a note saying that if I decided to go for the remake that they would use an outside manufacturer to make the boards. After looking over the pictures I decided to have them remake the boards using the other manufacturer as they are clearly having some issues with there manufacturing process and quality control. I got an e-mail from them this morning saying that they have initiated a remake of this order utilizing the outside manufacturer. So it looks like it'll be another 3-4 weeks figuring 13 working days to make the boards plus shipping if there aren't anymore problems.

Now even though the issues seem to be cosmetic it still leaves me to wonder about the other aspects i.e. are all the holes in the right place, how consistent is the width of the non copper areas and is it the correct width, is the copper layer consistent in thickness, how well is the copper adhered to the substrate, etc.... I mean if they can't get the cosmetics right what else isn't right. If the overall quality is such that I won't buy them then how could I even think of selling them to you and be willing to stand behind them 100%.

As far as any additional financial hit if there is one I will eat it (I don't think there will be as they seem to be willing to do whatever it takes to make this right). I truly appreciate the offers to help, Call me old fashion or retarded but I don't think it would be fair to ask you guys to makeup for someone else's screw up. If I end up taking a hit or even a loss so be it, it's part of the risk you run when doing something like this.

Thank you all for your advice and comments, it's appreciated. ~ gimpod

As of Friday the boards are suppose to be here around the 28th, If everything checks out ok I should be able to start shipping a couple days after that. There's just one wrinkle, It's that time of the year again for my dreaded annual evaluation so I'm going into the VA on Tuesday the 22nd and should be back by Friday the 25th if all go's well, But hey it's the VA you never know so if nobody hears from me by the first I got stuck at the VA. So with some luck see you on the flip side. ~ gimpod

Glenn, I don't have any boards left but I'm trying to get another batch made see this link

I don't think you've got SDA 2A's as far as I know polk never made 2A's with the pin/blade IC. I believe you've got SDA 2B Studios. Check your drivers and the crossover, The drivers should be a MW 6503 & a MW 6511 and the crossover should be a single rectangular board. If in fact they are 2A's the both drivers should be MW 6510 and the crossover will be two round boards. My boards will not work for the 2A's. Here's a pic of a SDA 2B crossover.

Yes it is, If and when I get them in, I went ahead and put you on the list.

I got the boards in but cosmetically they aren't up to my standards (see link) and I'm trying to send the current batch back for a refund. In the mean time I'm trying a new supplier so it may be awhile before I have any.
