Here's an odd one... this is a loudspeaker system made and sold by a major hifi manufacturer of its time (1960s). It is quite large (nearly as big as an Altec Valencia. It was named for a (still) well known New England venue... but it is not a product of any of the famed New England hifi companies.
Voice of the theaters..?Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Nope. The mfgr. was in the Midwest.
-
The ones I posted yesterday...
Sherwood Tanglewoods
(original source of catalog page image http://www.acousticpsychos.com/coppermine/) -
I would have never guessed Sherwood.

Get another one going.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

no one?
Howzabout this?
A tremendously good sounding and surprisingly sensitive small loudspeaker. -
Well I am gonna guess something by Kef. But then again my batting average in this thread is pretty low.--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
heh.... yeah... it looks like a KEF... but it's not a KEF...
:-) -
Well then I am gonna say Mirage, final answer.--Gary--

I've never seen one before, but is it the the Super Compact from IMF?

Ding, ding, ding!
Maybe they're SuperCompact IIs... but close enough!
They really are fine loudspeakers, in that "classic British monitor" mode that Matthew Polk emulated with the Monitor Series Model 7 and 10. The big IMFs are probably even better - but I've never heard any of them. -
I forgot all about IMF.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

well... the woofa looks to be KEF. I am guessing the MR is too, not so sure about the tweeter.
-
It has lots of KEFy goodness, but not from KEF.
Here is a view without the top grill. -
Early Bowers and Wilkins?

oooh, Direct/Reflecting Sound! (TM)After a legal embargo ended their "Bozo" gambit to conquer the dorm room loudspeaker market, Matthew "Lab Coat" Polk and his Minions turned their attention to the European Market...
;-)
I have no idea what the current loudspeaker contestant is; I'll put my vote with Mr. S's proposal. -
New klue. There are two of those oval woofers per kabinet. The Kompany loves "K" for some reason.
-
must be KIvar KTiefenbrun and LINN, then(*) :-)
No idea what model though :-P
* I KNOW it's not a Karlson Kabinet!

Linn Isobariks. Looks like Mhardy beat me to the punch.
Haven't heard those in years. I miss that old high end store in town. -
You guys are right.
I really miss the old high-end stores, as well. -
Still a few in the general vicinity of Boston.
Deja Vu in McLean, VA, is a very cool place if you're in the DC area.
how 'bout another speaker. This is an easy one. -
i dunno - the woofer looks like a KLH / Utah thingy with that inverted cloth surround.
and the face of the woodwork looks very KLH too - but I haven't a clue what model it is if it's KLH.Yamaha RX-V2700, EMI 711As (front), RCA K-16 (rear), Magnavox Console (Center & TV Stand), Sony SMP-N200 media streamer, Dual 1249 TT =--- Sharp Aquas 60" LCD tellie -
