Nice call. I thought they were DCM's.
-
MAN! that figures! I thought I was going to stump everyone. haha
Where did you see them?
They are actually TimeWindows^2 (squared) and they're super rare, especially relative to the rest of the DCM line. I spent months researching them and emailing any and every person I could find associated with the company.
They were fantastic speakers. I feel they were perhaps the best speaker ever to come from DCM. I used to believe that the TW7's were (and theyre generally accepted as the best), but I've learned what I really like in a speaker and I think the 2's did it better. Bass response was monstrous on the 7's but the 2's soundstage was huge and highly tailor-able.
In my opinion, the TimeWindows are one of those "must experience" speakers. Set up correctly (where they REQUIRE room interaction) they are perhaps one of the best bang for your buck deals out there considering they can be found for <$200 for the originals or 1a's.design is where science and art break even. -
Never even knew those existed. Fantastic!Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.
-
I've never seen or heard of those DCM's! Why did you get rid of them?--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -

I like the original timewindows... quite a bit. I have a butt-ugly but great sounding pair.
Sorry I got the name slightly wrong on the "squareds" :-P
Here's where I saw 'em:

OK, here's another one to ID. Not a hard one.
-
These are easy. Infinity's RS line. They look like RS7's but the tweeter isn't centered.
-
only easy if you can identify the model :-) Not RS7.
-
Then they are the RS-B but I am only guessing. The M's had controls on the front the B's didn't and they were both mirrored.
-
If I am right which I am pretty sure I am than how about these.
Company and Model please.

Didn't Captain Kirk have those? -

ding, ding, ding - RSb being the correct format of the model name, I believe :-)
Your entry are, I believe, Design Acoustics D-12 Dodecahedrons...
The Receiver in the photo looks like an early NAD.
(CDP 'pears to be a Kyocera; there's a Carver receiver and a Marantz integrated amp in the backgound, too) -
I say RS 1.5's. Are you thinking Qb? Very similar (I had 2 pair once), same layout, but with a different tweeter (silver faceplate), and Phillips midwoofer (like in the DQ-10 and others with the octagonal frame)Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Eh, you're right. I see it now. I forgot about the RSb, which was the upgrade from the Qb.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner. They are indeed Design Acoustics D-12's. I thought that would take longer.
I knew someone would describe the other equipment in the room. That is why I used that picture. -

EDIT: oops, Marky's out of phase with reality. Again. Dang.
OK, so here's another one if I am not being too premature. ID of the mfgr is easy even for mouth-breathers, so you've gotta identify the model. -
Yeah, I went straight to that page.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.
-
I think it's a Pioneer. ha ha

Russ gets credit for two digits. That's, like, an F-plus, I think...
(Here's a hint: they were a product of US Pioneer, 'cause it's 'spensive to ship big, heavy monkey coffins from Japan to the US) -
-
One of my favorite, all time loudspeakers (Maggie killers, shhh!). Still in production today.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Were they XD11's then? -

I thought you did when I looked up your model #. oops. -
The Pioneer is a Project 100A... and sounds much better than it has a right to.
I don't know the ID of the photo that Russ has posted - some latter-day hybrids with electrostatic drivers on top, it appears. Don't think they're Martin Logans (the baffle doesn't look curved) - I know there've been a bunch of such speakers since the classic Quad ESL days. -
It's not electrostat, it's a ribbon. Designers first name is Bruce.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

oops -- thud, buzz, klunk.
-
I am gonna go with something made by Apogee.....no idea on model though.--Gary--

Yep, from my pal Bruce Thigpen.
A whole lotta good sound below too, wish this company was still in business.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.
