Upper respiratory infection and a weird rash from shoulder down to forearm cycling in this wind (was wearing sleaveless). I'm on antibiotics and I'm sure the door will be deadbolt if I show up.

    You guys enjoy.

Rock on guys. We are already planning the second one here in the Midwest , thats how much fun we had....

Hopefully they both go quite well. Few things more fun than putting face to names, trading gear and stories, listening to gear new and old , and testing out theories like cable burn in....

Pretty damn good on a lowly 40 watt tube amp. Brock would have loved it.

Thanks a bunch Jim, and to everyone there. Sorry if I'm bad putting names with faces. Solid group of guys, serious about the sound, and a variety of tastes make it interesting and enjoyable.

See everyone at LSAF (I hope), and promise you guys will get some alone time with the new LSiM and Blackstone, as much as you need.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Lou, while I had hoped to have the new LSiM there, it was rather bittersweet hearing what Walter and I call 'old faithful'. The grandaddy of what is about to come out, Polk's original 'high end' line outside of SDA, and they performed flawlessly.

    Cheers,
    Russ

jim, had a great time. highlight was the crs+'s to me sounded better than any of the other polks with lsi25's coming in second. russ loved the tube amp. jim can't believe you finished off that half gallon of wild turkey. quad, those were some nice sounding interconnects you made and the tube phono preamp was killer.

That, sir, is an understatement. I thought that was the best-sounding combo I've heard to this day. That was my 1st tube amp to ever hear as well as my first time listening to the LS series, and it was freakin AMAZING!

What did it for me was the LS90s on the tubes, then my LSi25s on your Usher amp and quad's tube-pre, and finally the Monitor 10s. Not to knock the CRS+ though. Those were pretty sweet. It's a shame Polk doesn't do more SDA-style stuff, but we won't get into that. I wish I'd pulled the 25s out of my HT and down into the living room sooner. Definitely would've liked to have heard them on some of the other gear there. Next time I'll either showcase my HT a little more or simply bring it downstairs. I never really got a chance to show you guys what that AVR is capable of and I was anxious to let some of you 2-channel guys get bombed by my 7.3 setup.

I'm really glad we were able to do this. It's awesome to put faces and personalities to the usernames you see every day in the forums. I had way more fun than I'd ever anticipated today (in case you didn't notice me grinning like a 4-year-old on Christmas), and can't wait to do it all over again. It's pretty eye opening, hearing the different gear combinations. I'd like to get those Jrs in my 2-channel upstairs sometime, as well as hear one of the high-powered multichannel amps on my HT at some point. Nonetheless, you guys are all more-than-welcome in my home, any day, any time. This was actually pretty easy to throw together (for me, at least). I don't see why we can't do this more often. I definitely don't mind hosting again.

Skip and I made quick work of that Turkey. I'll never turn down a man who walks in my house with half a handle of anything and pretty much says "who wants to help me drink this?" Good times!

Here's the only decent-quality pic I tool all evening, and an older but still awesome pic of the GTO for those of you who ventured into the garage.

Man, looks like I missed a real good time. Work took much longer than expected. I'll have to request the time off for the next one so I can't be called to work on the weekend. Pisses-me-off I missed it.

we had two phono setups during the day. the first was a rega 2 played through the phono section of a music hall 15.3 integrated. the sound didn't make me miss my digital but the second setup with quadzilla's tube phono preamp had everyone that was left jumpy with joy. it made me even think about dabbling back into vinyl.
quadzilla, can you give us a little info on that phono pre?
