Most discussions like this occur because human beings, in general, like to feel good about their choices and to feel justified in their choices. Doesn't matter if their choice is the most idiotic irrational illogical pile of **** around. They want to feel good about it. And the way most people choose to measure that "feel good, feel justified" element is by having other people agree with them or go along. To the point of denigrating any one and any opinion that does not.

The most level-headed, calm, happy people I know are the ones least concerned with what anyone else thinks of them. They are comfortable with who they are and don't need your agreement. I also think you get the best discussion/debate with people like this, because their self-identity is not connected to their opinions... if they hear a better theory or a better opinion, or see they are wrong, they can change and remain true to themselves. If they honestly think they're right, then they'll say so and stick to it without having to cut you down or make a big deal out of it.

The most annoying, loud, bothersome, judgmental, in-your-face and "you're wrong" people are the ones MOST concerned with having outside justification. They possess the least self esteem and must have the little they do have justified by outside agreement.

IMO, the agitator from the beginning was that ultimately, and your opinion of the movie aside, the title of your thread (and a suggestion to everyone) was to imply action by people based on something that's too much of a variable (peoples reactions to the movie's subject matter). Of course the reactions are going to be varied between any group of people......which seems to have pissed ya off a bit. I don't think that I got into a pissing match, but you kinda snapped when people seemed to disagree with your opinion. My intention wasn't to do anything other than voice my opinion about the way I perceived things.......plain and simple. If that's too much for people to accept, dunno what to say......

If you have a few moments to pull your lips off Demi's ****, pay attention.......I'll cover this thread as far as my involvement in it because there seems to be confusion as to what peoples intentions are in their posting. As far as everyone else, I can't speak in regard to that......but this is why I'm still talking about this.

At no time did I start "lying and twisting his words around." If I interpreted what he was saying incorrectly, then that's quite a bit different than my outright attempt to make up what I'm reading. I'm curious also as to what I'm "lying" about. For me personally, I didn't ever start calling him names through my disagreement with his ideas. With regard to me, that's all him here. I don't have a problem with someone not agreeing with me, but I don't see the need to start crying because the reaction is less than what was apparently expected. I don't know what to say to Demi since he feels that other people expressing their opinions is putting him in a position of "having to deal with a bunch of infantile adults."

He wasn't just telling us what he thought about a movie. He outright asked "What Do YOU Think?" People answered. People disagreed. The problem that I have with people like Demiurge is that, while they accept people can have their opinions, they believe them to be "morons" for having them. He put that out there in his original post. When he indicates that he's "informing people of what's going on" I think that it's clear (from the past 4 pages) that he's not limiting his input to an objectionable thought. To acknowledge that the First Ammendment exists, then to follow that with that it's "unfortunate" that it applies to what he would perceive as "morons" is, IMO, picking and choosing what you do or do not like. (this isn't a judgemental statement, so relax)

In any of my posts, I didn't ever indicate anything to the effect of him being an idiot. I probably shouldn't have compared him to Jstas, but in reality, their reactions to people's opinions are extremely similar. Nor did I take off and stop talking once I'd voiced my opinion. He really welcomed people doing that by giving faster100 **** for trying to back out. ("Wait, wait, wait....you start an arguement. You get a reply, and then you cut and run? What's that all about? This isnt' a very heated discussion at all.") Don't **** about people trying to stop and then later **** because they've stayed. This is the same picking and choosing that I don't understand about people in general.....but Demiurge specifically in this thread.

Demiurge stated that "What this comes down to is your failure to admit that I do have a very sound point. I've made it a number of times now, and your un-willingness to recognize it isn't my problem." I'm confused by this kind of statement because, and this is how I took the comment, (not lying or twisting what he's saying), it sounds that becuase other people have an opinion that differs from his, they're clearly choosing to ignore such spoon fed fact, which makes them in the wrong. When I've stated my opinions here and he hasn't agreed, I haven't started name calling as he has. Nor have I gotten so pissed off because my opinion wasn't being overwhelmingly agreed with. People to him that aren't in agreement with his opinion are in "Denial" or are showing "Ignorance on your part." That's too judgemental for me, and that kind of judgemental attitude is what I've taken issue with.

"The movie may be in bad taste to some, but can you really say that there's a movie studio or company out there that hasn't ever released a movie like that?" and "Please, by all means, which movie studios haven't ever released a movie that could have been perceived to be in bad taste?" are the same comment, not a twist on my own words. The "movie like that" at the end of the first statement was specifying the "in bad taste to some" portion of the comment. If that was somehow unclear in my posting, I apologize, but to react with "Don't change your statements around, you already tried doing that with me" is a little over the top.

Demiurge's praise of Dr. Sounds comment ("Dr. Sound, thanks for the perspective. Thats really as simple as it all was. It's funny I'm supposed to accept their point of view, but mine is just a conspiracy....") is clearly the type of reaction that he was wanting to his posts. That's fine, but don't call people names and start flipping out when others aren't offering the same type of opinions as your own.

Brett22, I don't know what to say. You've got things so ****-backwards it's not even remotely funny. People boycott companies all the time. It's obvious to me that you don't understand Capitalism, and how it works in the free market. Do you need government to hold your little hand your whole life or do you think you can make some of your own decicions? I don't see the need for anyone to boycott a company, so don't feel that I've made an exception to my opinion for you. I'm not sure where Demi feels that the government is holding my hand for what my opinion is. I certainly don't welcome it from the government, as I don't welcome the type of interpretative opinion that Demi's been so hell bent on getting across to everyone. My opinions about you and your stance aren't so much specific to Disney. It's about the judgemental way that those opinions are put across that I take issue with.....from anyone. Of course, I must be brainless because I don't understand or agree with Demi's thoughts. I must not have a clue. In fact, I probably would just do whatever anyone told me to do simply because they deem it so worthy of their opinion.....ya.....that's it. I haven't tried to convert people to my opinion. I haven't name called when everyone didn't agree with me. And I haven't accepted someone elses opinion based on the delivery method that Demiurge has made clear he approves of. How all of that makes me in the perceived wrong of the select few that have their lips attached to each others asses is beyond me. If ya can't handle the fact that not everyone is going to agree with your opinions Demiurge, then don't post them as it's clear that you seemingly can't.
