I think that more and more people like O'Reilly(****), Dr. Laura(Bizatch), Al Franken(Commie) etc need to be heard and listened to in order for me, I AM JUST POINTING AT ME, to open up and say are you fooking nuts! OR you are right on!

Welcome to america, get it all out... its the only way things change.

    Excellent...

I was hoping for an answer like that. Freedom of speech is all too important wherever you live and wether you agree with what's being said or not. America means freedom, does is not? So labeling something unamerican would be labeling it antifreedom and that doesn't make sense unless you're talking about communism.

This thread, other than the name calling, is what's great about america. Up here (Canada), we have the same freedoms to question whatever you feel like questioning. It's something we as democratic people must never let go of. If Disney has a political agenda, let them, you don't have to listen. I know I'm going to have to see that army movie just because of this thread.

Same here. I'll give the DVD a rental. I also like Phoenix, a talanted actor. He did a friggen awesome job as Commodus in Gladiator.

    Peace Out~:D

Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.

My last point on this topic is this:

Sometimes many of the sinister "agenda" issues that the public drags up when they have way to much time on their hands is nothing more than an oversight or misinformation on the part of the originators. This may or may not be the case in "Nemo" with the word "merde". It's possible that one of the writers heard a Frenchman utter that word and thought it sounded right for this scene without ever checking out the meaning (besides - how many viewers know French?).

A very good documented example of this sort of thing is the cover art for Disney's "The Little Mermaid". Check out the story HERE.

I enjoy the Disney movies and probably have most of them on video or DVD. My 2 girls (ages 19 and 16) have watched each of them many, many times since they were very young. If Disney had a agenda to create liberals these 2 would be perfect test cases. However, in this case you end up with two conservative, intelligent, Christian young ladies with very high moral and ethical standards who like George Bush and think Bill Clinton was a jerk! Not too many liberal tendencies here. Maybe they are doing better with the rest of the population:rolleyes: .

I will echo the earlier sentiments: We have the choice to believe, the choice to view, the choice to accept, the choice to judge, etc...etc...

This is America! We have choices!
"Just because you’re offended doesn’t mean you’re right." - Ricky Gervais

"For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don't believe, no proof is possible." - Stuart Chase

"Consistency requires you to be as ignorant today as you were a year ago." - Bernard Berenson

Agreed that at the end of the day, either lay your money down for a product, or don't. And if you want to badmouth a company or product, knock yourself out. That is how you place your economic vote in the capitalistic arena.

Any person who has a panic attack over something like a castle spire that may be ****-like has some serious personal issues to work out.

Must disagree heartily with most here... children absolutely pick up on subtleties in movies. My daughter will be 6 next month and she misses very little. I know this because she asks me questions.

As a rule we do not bring Disney movies into our home.

Primary reason is that they alter classic literature. We will rent or buy a movie from a lesser known company with less production money, that sticks to the real story.

Secondary is that Disney is just too money-hungry.. happy meal characters, all the other **** that comes out with every movie. We don't buy that stuff so we avoid the entire deal, movie and all. I have never gotten the feeling that Disney cares two **** about my kids except for the money Disney hopes my kids will beg me to spend. No, Disney doesn't have to care about my kids. And I don't have to give them my money.

Also, like it or not, Disney does present some questionable representations in their movies (but, that said, what movie doesn't??) Easy example.. tell me one (OK, maybe 1, so tell me 2) GOOD stepmothers in Disney movies. As an adult, I can discern between real bias, PC ****, understand that times have changed, etc. My children cannot. When;s the last time an evil witch actually got a fair shake in a Disney movie?

Lilo and Stitch was one of the best Disney movies in a very long time in terms of an honest story about real human issues that can affect kids. We own it.

Disney makes decisions based on revenue... that is its purpose, to make money for its owners. On the one hand, I fully support private citizens that choose to make their concerns known, such as panic over Disney extending benefits to same-sex partners. On the other hand, I fully support (and actually enjoy) when a corporation tells some special interest group or over-zealous soccer mom to **** off.

In heaven, at least once, I get to be a corporate executive who is being hassled by Jesse Jackson and/or Al Sharpton in an attempt to extort money from my company or face a boycott. "uh.. no Mr. Jackson, the check isn't in the mail. But this sand-covered baseball bat is about to be up your ****."

    Bill of No-Rights

The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Kaye from Georgia. This guy should have run for President!

"We, the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid any more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common-sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt-ridden, delusional, bed-wetters.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim that they require a Bill of No-Rights.

    ARTICLE I:
You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

    ARTICLE II:
You do not have the right to never be offended. This Country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone-not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc., but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be, and like the rest of us, you need to simply deal with it.

    ARTICLE III:
You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

    ARTICLE IV:
You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

    ARTICLE V:
You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

    ARTICLE VI:
You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

    ARTICLE VII:
You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV, pool tables, weight rooms, or a life of leisure.

    ARTICLE VIII:
You don't have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of part time jobs, education, and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.

    ARTICLE IX:
You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness-which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an overabundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

    ARTICLE X:
This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from. We welcome you here. English is our language and like the one you left behind, we also have a culture. Learn it, or go back to the country and the living conditions you were fleeing.

I'll end with a HUGE...THANK GOD (is that slanderous?) that I'm not as hyper-sensitive as Demiurge is about things. Whether or not I agree with the subject matter in the movie in the original post, I'm not so amazingly offended that I would ever feel the need to Boycott a company over it. Give me a break. Maybe whining and crying to this degree about this kind of thing is what allows some adults to get in touch with their inner child, who knows.

Don't go watch the movie, leave it alone, and be done with it. Why you wanna start a battle against a company because of what you don't agree with is beyond me (and a few others aparently). This isn't a 'cause'........it's a tantrum.

Hehe......I'll add MY favorite company to boycott, McDonalds. I haven't eaten any of that food(???) in over 26 years, but I'll piss in their men's room if need be.

Now, I wonder who's going to tell me that I'm wrong, that since I don't like them that I should leave my country or that I'm throwing a tantrum.

Nice pic Ron, what do they call that thing?
