    That is ........ just ......... ............... ...............

Two pics in particular, IMO, should be reported as ****:

    Pic #7 in Post 179.

    Pic #7 in Post 180.

Pic #7 in Post 180 .......... deserves to be made into a poster .... or a print .... or an oil painting ....... Straight up, that is just downright nasty !!

Excellent work. If the sound is up to half the appearance, then the gods have smiled on you. Well done.

Oh, that's not me, but I would sure like to own is as my primary guitar amp

Not to mislead, it's only a 100 WRMS unit, (much less power than John's beautiful project). The antiqueradio.com builder is just anal about controlling, monitoring and diagnosing things on the fly (like tube failure which causes it to auto-shutdown)

Here are a few pictures of the bottom plate amd the wood side panels. They are both nekkid for now. The bottom plate will have a screen over the ventilation holes to prevent things from getting inside.

it is a good looking amp for sure, But do not just pay attention on the outside. I saw the wiring in the inside and it is not as neat as it should be. all the time when you deal with AC you should twist those wire very neat and close to the chassis. do not leave them "floating". just my 2cents.

I'm sorry but when you do an amplifier of this kind, you can be as anal as your are on him on yourself.

Until then? Kindly shut the ____ up.

They are nowhere near the point that I need to be concerned about that, as the insides are very much a work in progress. When you have the balls to put your money and time where your mouth is, then start your own thread. You can keep the two cents...

Really? Wow! Perhaps you'd like to give me some advice on my newly rebuilt 50 year old Eico ST-70 which sounds spectacular despite it's hideous wiring job. Only look if you can handle looking at the dog's regurgitated breakfast.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I am madly in love with these things as you can tell. I am still waiting for the transformers and the updated schematics from Bob so that I can complete them. I hope that they will be ready by late spring or early summer.

I will ask this only once... please stop coming into this thread for the sole purpose of being an asshat:mad:.
This project was undertaken with the idea of doing something that I have never seen done before and making it a reality. The choice of material(granite) was made because of it's elegant appearance, and resistance to vibrations. The bias of the tubes will be done automatically by an internal circuit inside the amp.

The comments you made about the wiring earlier in the thread will be addressed when the work is completed later, and will look like this when completed...

Looks like an opinion to me. Guess if you cant handle someone's opinion, dont post a public thread?

Thanks guys... The wife has made what I feel is an honestly good suggestion about the side panels. Her idea is to fill the sides with brushed aluminum instead of wood. Her thought is that with the brightwork around the tube bases and the trim band around the transformer covers, that the wood looks to busy and out of place. She also noted that other companies like Rogue(not by name) use brushed aluminum as accent pieces and she loves the way the material looks. She also said that it would tie in to the more contemporary look I have been going after, and then said "and besides, I have not seen any of your other gear that Bob designed using wood."

After caring of the wood she gave me when talking my language , I told her that I would give it a try. What say you guys?

Do what your wife says. Not only does she make good sense but when she tires of looking at those behemoths taking up so much space you can remind her that she helped design them. Always always work with WAF is my motto.
