Same here with the girlfriend. It's the only game she'll play. We find ourselves laughing our asses off while trying to take each other out during all the chaos. Good stuff.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I saved a penny and ordered those in post 69 and 70. I favor those covers more than the last as well. Very nice though, should look bada$$ on the JVC projector. Preorder up @ Amazon.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

You think the prequels have the same "imperfection" feel the originals had?
No, and that is exactly my point: they shouldn't. The reason everything is so clean in the earlier ones is that there hadn't been a war... not only that, but things are newer... by like 30 years. 30 years and a war? That changes the look of things. The rebels stuff looks beat up, because their crap is second hand and what not.
And Ep1 tatooine was beat up, as it should be... but not nice places in the republic
I've got the first three (prequels) in BD50 and the last three in BD25... man, they look good. I can't wait to see what the official versions look like. -
A long time have I waited for this, I was hoping May 4th would have been release day but waiting to September isn't that bad , summer will be over and being in front of the TV will be a welcome adventure for a weekend of Star Wars.
Can't wait.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

That's young Anakin and Luke.
I love the artwork for the individual sets, but I think the complete saga artwork is garbage. Still gonna buy it though!Equipment list:

September the 16th, I think, is the release date. I have stopped pre-ordering until right before the release. I kept forgetting I had already ordered something, only to order it again.
I have not re-watched my DVD versions for months now so that when the BR is available the movies will seem a bit fresh.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

At some point, one of the pay channels like HBO or Showtime had run all 6 episodes in HD. I recorded all but Episode 1. It is HD, no commercials etc. Episode 1 I have recorded from Spike TV, so it's not as quality and there are commercials. I have them on my directv dvr, and have never deleted them. Now that I can have them on blu-ray, I can add valuable hours back onto my dvr. Everyone once is a while I put them on, crank it, and enjoy. You responded to me 5 months after, so I'll respond 2 months later.
First off, there was a war, it occurs for half the prequels. Second, what was newer? So when the empire was set in place they decided to completely stop upkeeping their buildings and ships?
All of that doesn't matter, what I meant in my OP (7 months ago) was every real person seemed completely out of place with where they were at. Why? because everything from the walls to the floors to the people they are talking to are created in a computer. Maybe it doesn't bother others that much, but it takes me right out of the movie.AVR: H/K AVR240

So, I was on Amazon checking the release date, which is 9/16/11. This is a Friday, normally new releases are on a Tuesday. Anyway, I saw Amazon has one of their periodic pricing screwups. They have Bluray Episodes 1-6 for $90. Or you can buy Episodes 1-3, and Episodes 4-6 for $40 dollars each.
I remember they had the same screwup for a while with Sex and The City where you could buy all the episodes individually for less than the package. With free shipping, why pay more for one package?Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

This isn't a screwup. The individual packs only have the 3 discs for the movies, whereas the full pack with all 6 movies has 6 discs for the movies plus 3 additional discs of bonus material. So if you just want the movies, buy the packs separately and save $10. Otherwise, buy the full saga and get all the new bonus material they've compiled. Personally, the bonus material is worth the extra $10 to me, and $15 per movie isn't too shabby.Equipment list:

The Amazon reviews are hilarious. I can't believe people are still going on about the original versions. Lucas DID release them on dvd. The sheep bought those sets and bitched because they weren't anamorphic. The same sheep will STILL buy the blu rays and **** about those. And I especially love how they gave the blu ray set one star out of five despite the fact that IT IS NOT EVEN OUT YET. After YEARS of Lucas milking these movies for all they're worth, people should have figured out by now that this isn't going to change. While I have my own decidedly mixed feelings about Star Wars in general, I'm still going to buy the set in Sept. I'm going to enjoy the picture quality and lossless sound and I'm not going to nitpick every little detail. If anyone seriously feels that this set is going to be a rip off, please do not buy it.Display: Sony 42" LCD

Yeah, you can call these ripoffs if you want... but I'll have this set on day one. They've given these movies a great deal of care, both on the video and audio side, and they're going to look and sound amazing.
And bobman, the Christmas special is rumored to be an Easter egg. I'd wait for reviews to make sure, but... their response to the question all but confirms it.Equipment list:

So far, I'll stick with the original laserdiscs. If/when they release the original versions (and extended ones is fine) remastered in anamorphic on blu ray with DH sound/video. I will consider buying them. Until then, laserdiscs for me. Have not bought any other version of these films except the laserdiscs and I will not until they release them as stated above, period.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

WTF is a laserdisc? How old are you? Fourhunderd and twelve?
-
Huh? Obviously you don't know much and have a lot to learn. LD may be obsolete, but it is in fact a very good format.
At the time, maybe. Now? No, it really isn't. From a technical standpoint, it is / was hugely inferior from a video perspective, and while the audio was often better, it's not because of any technical reason, it's just the way they were encoding them at the time (higher bitrates and whatnot).
I realize that people idolize the Star Wars edition that came out on LD just because it was a particular good master, but that has nothing to do with the format. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
