Re: Teac A-6300 R2R For Repair
I've been slacking since March. I finally got back on the A-6300. Had some issues calibrating it in March after the recap, just let it sit. Near all the adjusting pots have a plastic shield. Dribbled some DeOxit in them, canned air them out. Much better.
Been watching ebay. Got a nice condition original manual for the A-6300 for $25 shipped.
When taking pics of heads, it helps to have a piece of paper under them to reflect light on them. I tried some thin foam packing material. It's a great diffuser but the heads reflect the irregular surface which hides the true condition of the heads. These have very little wear for the age of deck.

This is my amp here, and I just want to clarify how if I was to bi-wire it. So for my tower speakers (RTiA7) I would connect the bottom two spots on my speakers to where it says "Surround Back/Bi-Amp" on the back of the amp ? and this will give me better sound quality for movies or music or both ? I'm really new to setting these things up but recently bought myself what I think is a pretty nice setup :

I think Dave's been battling a medical condition in his hands for quite some time. I seemed to vaguely remember him mentioning something like that.
You're right Larry, none of them are even remotely considered young anymore. Most are approaching 80, lets face it most burned the candle at both ends and are very lucky to have made it this far.

Voltage in my house rarely drops below 120V except for quick spikes when my AC unit kicks on. I have a Ting monitor recording voltage 24/7. This was a day that had a relatively loud listening session after 8pm.
