Re: What did you do to your stereo rig today?
Two weeks ago I picked up a pair of Red Dragon Audio M500’s. I still have the Aric Audio Motherlode II,and they are driving my Nola Boxer 2’s. This is my first taste of class D. They are older ice technology, but I’m really enjoying them. Yesterday I ordered a pair of SVS 3000 Micros. I’ll see if they will stay in the main listening room,or go into the Pit,the secondary system.

Re: My 12 step program has gone awry
I have the Foreplay II and to my ears and for the money. It is a great sounding tube preamp. Wish it had a remote control though.

Re: My 12 step program has gone awry
Enough for today.
Not stock:
Power switch is a Cherry, not a big deal but the one that comes in the kit tends to melt if you leave heat on it too long.
Input terminals and the Goldpoint selector were pulled from a scrapped passive pre experiment that worked but provided no sonic improvements (and way less gain) then any other.
I’m going to try and stream in the upgrade kit rather than build stock and then rip/replace.
So far no additional cost but there are some upgrade caps on the way.

Re: Another TV post!
Be wary of the prices of TVs at the discount clubs such as BJs or Sams.
They usually are not a deal compared with Amazon, Walmart, or even BH Photo sometimes. I have been reading up quite a bit on Consumer Reports lately, so that makes me an expert lol. I may end up "cheaping out" and going with a TOTL TCL panel - they seemed to have upped their game with 65+ inch screens. That or a BOTL OLED may be the route.
If you can squeeze $1200 into your budget, I don't think there is any reason to worry about the features or quality of that Sony XR8B. It is basically last year's Bravia 8 minus one or two features that most would recommend disabling anyway (ie: adaptive contrast).
