I sent a photo of your first sculpture to Matthew Polk and he replied:

    "3D printed? Very cool.
    I'm honored. -msp"

I'll send him the white lab coat version, I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it. Well done!

    What!!

    Some progress on the tweeters!

How will you make them a progressive point source like the "real" SDA's?

I use almost the same HF components as the original. Hopefully it sounds better than just 4 straight tweeters with the same components.

But they aren't the same drivers, so using the same electrical parameters is sort of moot. I predict lots' of lobing issues as well as phase issues and combing issues. The spacing of drivers and baffle angle on original SDA's is pretty critical to SDA success.
Not trying to be a downer, just curious about critical elements of the SDA's and how well you've considered them.

Who knows. I mostly make them to look like the big ones. Just a bonus if they sound ok. I think i have better chances with 4 differently tuned tweeters than just 4 straight wired ones

The closer drivers are together the less lobing and comb filtering. Kind of by definition. And he copied the crossover so they aren't playing the same bandwidths.

I'd be interested how they would perform as near-field monitors too. Overkill would be welcomed.

I do applaud your vision. Very cool even if they don't turn out to sound like SDA's. If they do, then that's a bonus.

MM is more scientifically and mathematically advanced. Millimetre

French Scientists / French Academy of Sciences Invented in 1790 during the French Revolution to create a unified, rational system based on the natural world (originally derived from the Earth's circumference).

Inch Ancient Romans / Anglo-Saxons Originally based on human anatomy—the width of a human thumb. The Ancient Romans introduced the uncia (meaning "one-twelfth" of a foot). King Edward II of England later standardized it in the 14th century as the length of three grains of barley placed end-to-end.

Yep, they used the pole-to-equator distance, which is just one-quarter of the polar circumference. Same math, just a specific slice of the globe.

Looking forward to a price on the 3d Matthew polk Figurine with flag ship SRS.

I bet,@Lerjebrink ,will soon be bombing out the big boys in the near future.
