When I first saw you thread, I wanted to ask "WHY?".

Now, I admire your creativity, determination, and "PATIENCE" especially with people.

    This is an entertaining "PROJECT"!

Electronic test. Works beautifully. Now it is time to solder up speaker number 2.

Epic. Where's the SDA IC cable?

I decided to go without it. Many people in this thread told me that it would only work if the distance between the 2 rows of speakers are more or equal to ear-to-ear distance. So i scrapped the SDA cable. The tweeters are still 4 way tho.

I have no idea if it would have worked with it

I feel like a lot of people are looking at those and saying how cool it would be to own something like that. Super job.

Might've worked still, for nearfield SDA.

You don't always have to set them up for critical listening. Don't listen to the naysayers. If they’re anything like the big boys, they will have a nice balanced sound within reason to some placement.. I would have liked to see an SDA cable, you could remove it later! How are they sounding?

In my random experiments I've found the sda channels add a little something regardless of the spacing but the closer to the stereo array the more narrow the sound and the farther away the wider more diffuse. There is a goldilocks zone where it works better than others but it is doing something regardless.

Ok, so now there are just regular speakers. Not SDA's. Sort of lets all the air out of the balloon for me. Cool looking, but nothing going on with the sound. :/

You must understand too, that i dont want to pay 400$+ for more components that maybe wont make a difference. Maybe in the future, who knows.

Still a cool project, one I don't have the talent to complete. Spending another $400+ wouldn't get you an SDA type presentation. If they sound decent or even if they don't, still a cool looking project.

You'd still get SDA-IACC with a slightly smaller soundstage width than a set of 2B's. At nearfield, it may be even more expansive, who knows. JAT

Great vision and execution either way.
