Last week, I drove 9 miles from my house to Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park to see the display of the 2,977 Flags for the September 11 event. The display of the flags was so massive, it was difficult to grasp the whole picture from the ground. None of the pictures nor videos that I made captured the moment.
Today, on Facebook, this video shows the flags from a drone. Unbelievable and moving!
The video starts with the picture above and goes across the field.

I had to take control once for 45 minutes in 40 knot winds while the auto pilot was disconnected ,Traveling at 17 knots with a fully laden cat was pushing its limits...... We were going past Mnt Pico . Exhausted me physically and mentally ,it was my first "real sailing experience"! It certainly opened my eyes to how easy we have it now days.I'm Your Dingleberry

Yes, the title is clickbait. Some of the tidbits of information are interesting. -
Mesmerizing Water
That first contact with the strong breeze, boat heeling, rail going toward the water, adjusting course to the "lift" or "header" of the wind is a wonderful feeling - when the world goes quiet.
It is total presence - you can't worry about life's troubles when you are perfectly dialed into the wind.
Music for the soul!

We were down to the third reef.
We sailed across the Atlantic within 100-200 mtrs of each other depending on weather conditions ,which also gave us our pictures. Yacht "Scorpio"Always have your sail up even when motoring along as the ship under sail has right of way! 3days motoring through this high pressure system.
There was so much rubbish out there ,its unbelievable ,from Mcdonald foam wrap box's , full trees, milk crates ,we also found a old glass fishing float .
Spooky when the horizon disappears into its reflection.
Thats me inspecting the name spelling correction : )>
Marina da Horta on the island of Faial and doing some photography in Portugal.
A few sunsets on the way....
Great memories and some unbelievable stories with this adventure ,from a blue whale visiting us ,dragging a lost long line aboard to catching a sub taking a sneak peak in the early hours one morning......Nothing gets passed on my watch

@ptrooper, ^^^^great journey and pictures!
Had to look up "Furphies".
Furphies is an Australian slang term that means a rumor, false report, or absurd story.
Origin of the Term
The Furphy Foundry: The word comes from J. Furphy & Sons, a metal foundry established in Shepparton, Victoria, in 1864 by John Furphy.
Water Carts: The company manufactured horse-drawn farm water and sanitation carts stamped with the "Furphy" name.
Usage and Modern Culture
Slang: People use the phrase "telling a furphy" when someone shares dubious or fabricated information.
Furphy Beer: The name also inspired a popular Australian commercial beer brand known for its refreshing ales and lagers, playing on the tradition of spinning yarns with friends."Sometimes you have to look to the past to understand where you are going in the future"Harry / Marietta GA -

Have you ever noticed we live in a country where a 95-year-old man can walk into a mud pit in Chicago, call his band The ****, and start reciting "Crazy Train" like he’s giving a TED Talk from the afterlife?
William Shatner. Ninety-five. Riot Fest. Douglass Park. REMEMBER...He's 95 and rockin in his way...
