Yes, that's correct and those are EL34 tubes behind them for size comparison.

Those old globe style 866 tubes from the 1920's sure do light up better than the later 866a version.

Old globe 866, these old ones seem to have a better glow, as I'm using them with a tube preamp, not much current draw.

Looking good! What kind of KT88s are you running? Such a smooth sounding power tube!

Edit: Wait a sec, I guess those are actually KT120s?! My bad!

Good eye! They are Tung-Sol KT120s.

I will probably give some KT88s a try next, though.. Hear good things about Genalex.

Superb. It's amazing what a few parts implemented correctly can sound like. Simple circuits always sound better.

The ambient retrieval, open and transparent are all excellent. The NuTube adds just enough warmth and adds to already excellent dimensional information. It's super quiet too.

If you want less 2nd harmonic you can adjust the voltage to the cathode with the two trim pots.

FYI, the kits are back in stock as of today. It's been a long wait.

The only area I see that can make a pretty big improvement is the volume pot. A standard ALPs is included which does a good job. But to take the unit another level I'm getting a TKD shunt type volume pot.

This is in my office rig running a pair of Pass ACA mono's in parallel configuration. Since it's more near field and lower volume listening an excellent tracking volume pot is essential.

Speakers are Polk Audio R200's and they have never sounded better!

I didn't build this one, I bought it assembled from a great seller.

I recently picked up a quad of GoldLion and also JJ KT88s for my Cayin Jazz 90 integrated. Will let you know how they are once I try them.
