You know you’re getting old when…

What are some of the things you’ve noticed creeping up on you, as the years go by?

I’ll start:

You need to sit down to put your socks on.

No heart attacks. Boy those first few steps in the morning are slow and creaky. The best thing to do are stretching exercises at least once a day. I spend 30 minutes twice a day doing stretches. It is very beneficial!
As my 90 yr old uncle says, " boy keep moving and stretching, sit down you die"
I think he's on to something.

Having to swap from one side to the other, otherwise your hip gets sore. Whoever invented that needs to be taken to the train station!

Mrs. H and I stop every 1 to 2 hours (depending on the length of the trip and the route) when we travel by car.
Our first few steps after extricating ourselves from the car are not pretty.

Your teeth start dying on their own. Slowly...One by one... It sucked/s.

I'm at an age...what's the use in getting 25K of dental work or more for the remaining years I might have left in the tank? I might get a cheap 2k set one day next year.

If I'm cremated, my wife would've had a pretty $$$$ set for a paperweight, right?.
I hear they don't cremate dentures.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

it's harder to tell the difference between a fxxt and the real thing...

I really can't believe I had to "xx" that word since the platform took it out. Oh well, older folks know what I'm talking about...

Come to think about it, 2 racks would also be a waste as a paper weight. It might be better to roll with what you got.

I find that I go to great lengths now to avoid working on something at ground level. A few weeks ago I spent half an hour building a ramp so that I could get my generator on the tailgate of my truck, in order to do its oil change and tune up.

I got an email a few weeks ago from the American Chemical Society saying that I'd reached member emeritus status (or something like that) and qualified for membership gratis. Cool.
Then about a week later, I got the annual membership renewal letter. With a bill.
I need to reconcile those two today or tomorrow (come to think of it), as I try to do ACS renewal before year's end, for a tax deduction. :p
I dropped AAAS (Science magazine, mostly) membership a few years back. :/

Age has slowed me down big time. I get frustrated sometimes when I realize it's taking me 2X as long to do something with probably 2X as many breaks, but I remind myself I'm still doing most of the things I did 15+ yrs ago so it ain't all that bad.

They really should be catching licenses.
I've done a fair amount of fishing in my time, both salt & fresh water.
I can say with some authority that fishing is not the same as catching.
