I shudder at the thought. In my meager time with A/V, I've owned two receivers and two processors. My first AVR dispersed the magic blue smoke right before my eyes....you can never unsee that and hope you never see it again.....Marantz AV10-Emotiva ERC3-Denafrips Venus-Panasonic UB820-AudioQuest Power Quest 707-Emotiva DR3, DR2, XPA2, XPA6-Focal Kanta No2, Sopra Center-PolkAudio RTiA9, RTiA3, LSiM 702F/X-Epik Empire-SVS SB5000-11.3 -
I have only gotten it twice in my life. One with an 8 watt tube amp and the the other one knocked out 2 amplifiers that had JUST gotten back from service. A lightning strike was the cause for the second one....the system was on when it hit, so the electronics that were frying while the speakers were going?.....well, it amplified the system frying through the speakers.
That's a sound one never forgets.
