You’re not entirely wrong @daddyjt, but people don’t always think that through.
Overall, though:- My home value has increased far faster than inflation, or my salary (when I still had one). It’s like a second 401(k) in reality. If I were to sell it, I could still buy something fabulous in Colorado (or elsewhere) with the proceeds.
- As mentioned previously, California limits property tax increases for existing owners so that they can’t outpace income, so our taxes are actually less of a burden in proportion to our income than they were 25 years ago.
Those that are in outstanding financial positions in Cali do well.
Just takes time to drive out the riff raff… to pay for the dream. -
