We were at a gathering today at lunch time at one of the two town VFD stations.
This was served.
Sometimes the jokes write themselves.
I realize this is probably a very kind gesture on A-B's part when water is needed after a disaster (large or small), but my immediate reaction was "well, it looks like Truth in Advertising caught up with the makers of Bud Light".

Holy crap that brings back memories....
We were in Miami for 3 months in 92 for the Hurricane Andrew restoration. Anheuser would come in at designated ares and unload dump trucks after dump trucks of this water.
There were lines for over a mile of people coming to get water.
They were dumping six packs of these. We thought it was cool to grab a six pack as a souvenir of our time there.
Had a six pack for decades until the aluminum gave way and started leaking.
They weren't as elaborate as those, just big letters saying WATER along with their logo. They were just black & white.

Bahahahaaaaaa...
Just got the water reference while reading it to my wife 😂 -
Many of us have been drinking Anheuser-Busch water since we were teenagers*, but it was labeled differently.

Many years ago, in a past life, I worked for a British company.
In those days, I was in the UK regularly. One day, I was killing time at the local Tesco supermarket (quite a large one, we were essentially in the suburbs of Oxford). I was looking through the canned and bottled beers, and I was rather surprised to find real Czech Budweiser (as opposed to the A-B stuff). I hadn't even known about it until then (ca. 1995).

That "Bud" is so successful is proof in the power of advertising because it tastes like sewer water smells.

I can imagine the ad campaign (or maybe they're PSAs)...When disaster strikes -- kick back and pop open something from your friends at Anheuser-Busch!
Don't forget to tread water responsibly.

In all fairness, it makes excellent slug bait in the garden

Four bottom of the liners from the second half of the 'seventies.

Meanwhile... I was just browsing eBAY and happened to notice this juxtaposition. It made me chuckle.
Mind you, the 40-1310, made by Foster (Fostex) for R/S, was/is a good high sensitivity tweeter, while also having almost remarkable HF extension (well into ultrasonic, like 40 kHz).
... but the 40-1375 is a very, very fine sounding tweeter and also quite sensitive (admittedly not as high) and also with very extended treble output (well beyond 20 kHz).
Bottom line, I'd rather have a pair of the latter than the former -- especially at a tenth of the price.
Paying $750 for a pair of 40-1310s would be nuts.
Probably goes without saying that I - ahem - do have pairs of both.
The 40-1375s are out on loan to a friend in MA -- they make nice supertweeters for a pair of Altec Valencias, although they're absolutely at their limit in terms of keeping up with the sensitivity of Valencias.
The 40-1310 are in their boxes in the basement someplace. Bought 'em cheap on sale from R/S long ago.

Yep I noticed about 5 yrs. ago that the round super tweeters had went into outer space for price. I wish I still had mine. Originally they were like $20 a piece new. I would use them reflecting backwards on top of my speakers.
They follow the standard hipster/collector script. Only the Japanese-made 40-1310 command the highest prices. Later morphs (virtually identical) were made in places like Korea and (ultimately) China -- and sell for much less (although still more than they should).
R/S sold the things for many, many years -- and I am pretty sure they sold zillions of them, too.
The punchline to the whole thing is that Fostex still sells an extremely similar tweeter, with every bit of the sensitivity and HF extension as the 40-1310 -- and still for a very reasonable price (especially compared to other Fostex supertweeters).

Speaking of collector's items...

good catch! Maybe that's why it's lit up like a Christmas tree!

It wasn't that one but my very first stereo system had a Scott receiver and a pair of Scott speakers. All hand me downs from my Mother, along with an unknown TT. For an 8 year old kid, I was in hog heaven.
The seed was planted when I heard my uncle Tommy's system earlier that day. I listened to this little bitty tube amp powering a pair of homemade Klipsh Klipschorns over LP and I fell in love with what I heard.
Came home and begged my parents for something, anything they had that I could use to set up a stereo system.
Keep in mind, this was back in 1978. When you didn't watch a NASCAR race, you listened to it on the radio because it wasn't on TV. If memory serves, they only televised the big ones. Maybe Talladega and Daytona and I believe it was only available on ABC's Wide World of Sports programming.
