    I don't remember seeing an RCA TV with a record player.

    I do remember our family's first TV which was a black and white RCA. Of course, the furniture store delivered the TV and set it up. During the setup is when I saw my first show on one of the three channels. It was the Andy Divine Show. Roy Otwell of Otwell's Furniture Store in Temple GA delivered the TV.

    Could you imagine if every TV today was installed by the store where purchased.

    All in one consoles were a thing into the early '70s, at least. :)
    We never had one -- they were too 'spensive.
    My father serviced many, though (he had some relatively well-to-do customers, by local and temporal standards). :)

    Random internet photo for illustrative purposes only -- I couldn't find a nice "opened up" view of one of the big boys like this one. :#

    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    Photo taken by our son in Nov. 2008 (that's getting to be a while ago, isn't it?) of the low voltage 'space charge' triodes (developed for automotive radios) all aglow in a Pete Millett hybrid headphone amp I built back around... umm... the turn of the century. :)

    * Birth of a meme *

    So -- last evening, we supped with our daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren alfresco in the back yard of their rather rural homestead about 1/2 hour by car from our (also rather rural) house.
    While listening to indigo buntings call (their call is in the form of paired notes, and is pretty unmistakable) I felt the urge to create a meme.

    Today - a much more summery day - I have prosecuted* that urge (instead of doing anything actually useful).

    04uoaarhkm43.png

    I should point out that the greyish feather in the second panel is indeed an indigo bunting feather. Indigo buntings, you see -- as well as other so-called "blue" birds -- are not actually blue colored. They just look that way. B)

    https://www.seacoastonline.com/story/news/2021/12/28/nature-news-bluebirds-arent-blue-but-use-structural-coloration/9022497002/

    But that's another story for another meme, I suppose.
