Great combination! We used to sell the 3020 with an Oracle Alexandria and Sonus cartridge with Spica TC50 speakers and Kimber Kable. That system would easily hold its own today. I still have a 3020.

I wish now that I would have kept a CDP-101, they didn't sound great but were well built. The same with one of the early Philips players. A bit of history.

I was within inches of acquiring one of the original model Maggotbox Magnavox branded (US) Philips CD players, in its original box, on the swap pile at the good ol' Harvard, MA town dump (many years ago). I got to chattin' with a friend and one of my dump-diver colleagues swooped in and snagged it.
Not that I am bitter or anything...

In seriousness -- naah, the dump was all about building relationships. The dumpster diving was just the icing on the cake.
It was (is) the social and political hub of the town. Campaigning for town elected positions always involves a few Sadurday mornings at the dump.
