Newest addition to the garage

I haven't been on the sight much lately. The boat bug has bitten again.

I have been into boats for many years but got out of it 6'ish years ago. I have always enjoyed performance boats and had studied these back when I had other V-bottom boats. This time I decided to try a different design and see how we enjoy it.

Wife is excited but has set the limits to what I can do while she is in it. I have a feeling after a couple of good runs she won't worry any longer.

Here is the one I picked up on Saturday. Had it on the lake Sunday and all I can say is the performance is rather extreme.

Besides floating fast, what else do you do with a boat like that? ;)

Speed is what it is most used for. It can provide a great day on the water to float, swim, tube...

If you enjoy these type of boats check out this video.

This is a dealer from Florida who pushes them to the extreme. He is driving a 21, mine is a 22. Both are the same length mine just has a slightly different deck. Newer design.

He is running the same engine. A Mercury Racing 300r with a 34 pitch Cleaver prop, mine is a Mercury Racing 300r with a Mercury 5 blade prop. They tell me the Cleaver will get me about 5 more mph.

The props are rather expensive so I am not going to purchase the Cleaver until I want to push it to the next level.

I did. I use to do the poker runs in the north Texas area when I had a v-bottom.

Some of the guys in the open class have some crazy boats.

Ran it today. Got a pretty good run. Engine still only has less than 10 hours so can’t hold it for to long. Still wondering if I will get it to max as this was rather intense.

I think we got it to about 80 but this is the only picture we captured.

It was fun but need a really calm day to get much more. Wind was about 10 mph

Had a really good day on Monday. Went out late after the heat broke and most were getting off the lake. Wind was calm and it was just the wife and I. The speedometer has a digital recall function and it was reading 92.7 mph. I had more left but was running out of lake. If I am going to get more at the lake by the house then I need to get to it quicker. I was running a bit timid at first before opening it up. I think I need to be at Texoma on a calm day to have a bigger area to cover.

I’m going to hit 100 before the end of the season. At least thats the goal.

I didn’t get a picture of the speedo with 92.7. I regret that now.

    More details soon.

I thought I might get that response. :) I need to be better about having my phone handy or get a go-pro. Even if I can't get a picture while running I'll be sure to capture a picture of the recall next time.

I've had the winter blues not being able to take the boat out. Was browsing the web last week and ran across a prop upgrade that I could not pass up. Should be a easy 7 mph addition.

Now just need a warm day....

Cool boat! Can't have those here on the Columbia River. Between crazy currents, Gale force winds, floating logs and sturgeon the size of your boat basking in the sun you'd never get to use it.
