Just listened to the entire album front to back.

Been years since something held my attention all the way through.

Will be getting the LP so I can listen old school at work for sure!

Some folks seems like they are catching on to the different variants. Some clown on eBay is asking 1 large for a Danny Drum Kit variant! Not sure if this guy knows. OMG still 75 bucks starting bid!

Press release says vinyl is coming soon. I can buy both and live with myself. The cd case is pretty damn cool, even if my one watch will probably be it. Now if it were my younger days and the right psychedelics came around...

At the Chicagoland Polkfest (2006) I brought all my TOOL CDs with me and the, ahem, "older" gentlemen in attendance poked fun at me for it. Now, however, they are listening to the band and loving it. I'm cool with that cuz that's how I roll

I will be 70 in September, and while I like Tool, I find they work better after I have smoked some medicine. Generally, I prefer either Basic Rock, or Metal when just drinking beer. :)

A lot of people comparing this to Lateralus, 10k days, I refuse to do so for the simple fact we have had years to listen and pick apart the meaning/story of the songs, I believe this will be just like the other albums, it will rely on the mood one is in, there are times I fall in love with undertow again, as well as 10k days, that’s why I always say they are like Pink Floyd, I believe most people who say they love Pink Floyd haven’t dug past DSOTM. They are an experience to inhale and breathe out.. I’m listening to Wings for Mary pt 1 and 2 right now, again it’s a song to experience and take in, its incredible, Tool is the $hit...

Pneuma, Invincible, 7empest, are my favorites right now..

umm, you don't suppose that that's because, thirteen years later, the TOOL fans, perhaps yourself included :oare (i.e., have become) "older gentlemen"?

On the previous albums, there were certain tracks that jumped out and grabbed my attention on the initial listen with more to come as time went on. I’ve only listened to it once so far and nothing jumped out, in that way, yet. I know, I know, only one listen?!? Ya, well, it’s not easy to get some quiet time in an apartment on Labor Day weekend! :p

There were some very heavy parts toward the end of one of the songs that caught my attention but I’m not sure which one it was (hard for my eyes to read the display on the Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai.). As the good doc mentions, I was younger 13 years ago :D but, so were the older gentlemen that I mentioned who have come to appreciate the band at an even later date in their lives. ;)

I have to say, I think I prefer the CD version. The track list feels more interesting and tight. Makes the whole thing feel like a massive project. Not that there is anything wrong with the transition tracks, but I just feel like those were more ideas that didn’t get fully fleshed out. At least that’s my opinion so far. They could still grow on me.

After a first listen last night, Invincible is my favorite. Not that it won’t change. Just really liked the drums on it as well as the multiple transitions. I could visualize where every piece was with the drums. Very well done!
