How does everyone feel about the packaging? Does it have a wow factor, or more of a gimmick factor?

Not “Gimmicky” at all IMHO. I think it’s pretty darn cool actually. The video is perfect for getting you in the right mindset. I think the different backs to the CD packages are pretty cool. Even though I didn’t get the “Danny Carey drum kit,” I think it’s the best looking of the bunch.

I totally agree. Once I opened mine and saw the details that went into the video and packaging it all felt very premium. I’m glad I went for it.

There is a new video on YT that dropped five days ago. Enjoy.

If you want to see them live you either have to get really lucky or pay a scalper. When I saw them in 2017 in CA I had to pay a scalper.

Yup, I’m just glad I was lucky enough to see them years ago. It makes it much easier to turn down these unknown but likely insane ticket prices.

I was able to secure one ticket and I went by myself in 2017, a week before the graduation ceremony at my University which, coincidentally, was held at the same venue as the concert. I also saw them several times during the 10,000 days tour - at 2 different venues in the Chicagoland area. Each time, IIRC, I just called the box office directly. It’s been 13 years since those venues in Chicagoland though!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a 2020 extension of the tour (Atl?) since the new album dropped mid-this tour. I will pay exorbitant prices to see them as I never have.

I think I paid around $400 for front row. In my defense it was Tool, Melvin's, Primus, Clutch, and Fantomas (vocalist of Faith no More).

Discogs no longer allows any of the Tool bootlegs to be sold on their site anymore. Is this a new site wide ban on bootlegs or just Tool? All of them used to be sold on there.

    https://www.discogs.com/Tool-Ænima/release/8916084
This release has been blocked from sale in the marketplace. It is not permitted to sell this item on Discogs.

It’s site wide. Makes sense to avoid blocking obviously copyrighted material.

    Salival is awesome.
Pushit live and Tool’s cover of No Quarter are worth the price of admission alone.
  • Added this one last night and the Vega G2 adds its own magic. What a cool album. Different that's for sure and what an amazing drummer.
