Would be cool if there were 7 different variants like Led Zeppelin’s In Through The Outdoor... The number 7 seems to run in the CD..
Edit: There were 6 variations of Led Zeppelin In Though The Outdoor.. Thought I was on to something.. LOL!!
As I was reading your posts with the different images on the back, the first thing I thought of was "In Through the Out Door".

Interesting that there seems to be different variants. Really good marketing play, IMO, as folks (I myself included) will seek them out to get the whole collection. Sigh!

At the Chicagoland Polkfest (2006) I brought all my TOOL CDs with me and the, ahem, "older" gentlemen in attendance poked fun at me for it. Now, however, they are listening to the band and loving it. I'm cool with that cuz that's how I rollHT Speakers: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * RSL Speedwoofer 12S

I will be 70 in September, and while I like Tool, I find they work better after I have smoked some medicine. Generally, I prefer either Basic Rock, or Metal when just drinking beer.

Had a listening party here last night with some guests. We opened the package together.
Very cool IMO and yes reminded me of the Pulse cd

umm, you don't suppose that that's because, thirteen years later, the TOOL fans, perhaps yourself included
are (i.e., have become) "older gentlemen"?

On the previous albums, there were certain tracks that jumped out and grabbed my attention on the initial listen with more to come as time went on. I’ve only listened to it once so far and nothing jumped out, in that way, yet. I know, I know, only one listen?!? Ya, well, it’s not easy to get some quiet time in an apartment on Labor Day weekend!

There were some very heavy parts toward the end of one of the songs that caught my attention but I’m not sure which one it was (hard for my eyes to read the display on the Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai.). As the good doc mentions, I was younger 13 years ago
but, so were the older gentlemen that I mentioned who have come to appreciate the band at an even later date in their lives.

I’m feeling that today Dave. But 7empest and Pneuma coming in right behind.

I have to say, I think I prefer the CD version. The track list feels more interesting and tight. Makes the whole thing feel like a massive project. Not that there is anything wrong with the transition tracks, but I just feel like those were more ideas that didn’t get fully fleshed out. At least that’s my opinion so far. They could still grow on me.Analog: Hana ML > VPI Prime Signature 21 > Bob's Devices Sky 20-S > Sutherland 20/20 w/LPS

After a first listen last night, Invincible is my favorite. Not that it won’t change. Just really liked the drums on it as well as the multiple transitions. I could visualize where every piece was with the drums. Very well done!
