Tony your description reminds me of this one that I just saw at the Milwaukee art museum last month:

YUP. ;) Unmistakable aren't they. I've seen where he has pieces all around the world now.

    Probably the same artist.

He might have a Co. of people helping him make those shapes. Maybe not.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Nick Cave installtion at Mass MoCA last year -- not the musican, the artist.

    This was absolutely dazzling.

He does, he helps and directs them on what design he wants done.

    Wow! :p

NICE sculptures!!!! I love that yellow glass bush and big globes.

That overhead display is very nice too.

Now I like these a lot except, again, too many blue spires for my taste. BUT the rest is cool! B)

I was speaking from a purely artistic view of the skill it took to make those pieces of art. No filth even entered my mind looking at or complimenting their shape or image.

But I think you forgot to put a smiley face at the end of your comment, or am I wrong and you're offended by my innocent comment that you took into a different realm?

    He's just got globe envy.

    B)

This thread's recent art-related Kontrapunkt puts me to mind of that classic Blondie hit.

Soon turned out, had a bush of glass...

speaking of big globes (that was an AC/DC song, wasn't it?) -- the Ledyard bridge, linking Norwich VT and Hanover NH, (arguably) has the biggest globes of them all.

HAHAHAHA Damn, dude! No, I didn't forget the smiley face. Always leave 'em guessing. Although in this case, I didn't expect to trick anyone that easily. >:)

I thought Eartha was the biggest globe at 41ft. Delorme Mapping in Yarmouth Maine now owned by Garmin. David Delorme sold it. I watched part of it being built when they moved to that new location off i95.. If you havent seen it-its worth looking it up.. My exwife & sister worked there for many of years

Nature strikes again -- or --
what the heck is this thing?

This has appeared on one of our windows on the first floor.
Mind you, I have two degrees nominally in Biology, but I have no idea what this is.

    ow1t6mczobd2.jpg

The color and fine structure make me think it's either an egg mass of some sort, or a critter of some sort -- or maybe it's just bird droppings(?).
The better photo gives no sense of scale. I tried to add a ruler for scale, but I had trouble with focus (depth of field). This photo is inverted relative to the one above.

    1eezl0jx5pd7.jpg

Whatever it is, it's about 13 mm/0.5 inch long.

Anyone have any idea what this is?
