  • Brian did you spray paint the inside or is that something else you applied? Looks good by the way.

  • Hey Brian, I guess I should have asked is there even a brace between the midwoofers to measure?

The repurposed JBL cabs I saw had a thick coat of roofing polymer brushed on the inside.

Yea there's a 9.25"x9.25"x.75" brace. I beveled down the top edges for a little extra clearance for rings. I wish I'd done something completely different while they were out. But that ship has sailed...

  • I like the hardware you're using, and I also like the wire wrap, I want you to share that with me..

I'm not sure I like the paint in the cabinets, I think if it was textured it would look better, but I'm not sure if the texture would change the sound..

Looking forward to hearing them, and what your thoughts are when you're done with them..

    Huevos are eggs
  • I'm still looking forward to how the eggs are incorporated--always looking for ways to improve my 2BTL!

  • Very cool. Reminds me that I've got a full set of Jantzen inductors to put in place of the stockers.

May I ask how you secured the SDA inductor to the floor? That's the one detail I haven't worked out yet. (Is that a Northcreek inductor?)

  • I believe could be a Solen. I do not know if Northcreek is making any these days. Price page is gone and inductor page say's "retired2016" at the bottom.
  • They're Northcreek. I bought them off of Larry awhile back.
I'll take some pics when I get home. Mounting the inductors turned out to be really easy.

So I used these t-nuts and some stainless all thread that welded at the bottom. Then these plastic spacers that I made fit into the center and that's what holds this whole thing in place. Plus I added a rubber gasket for them to sit on.
