Is this a good price for these?
If these have the blade/blade interconnect they will have two round boards for the crossovers and are quite expensive to upgrade. At $250.00 purchase price and you do the full upgrade path figure on being into them for upwards of $700.00+ not counting spikes.
Not trying to rain on your parade just letting you know what to expect. Good luck however you decide.
-
I would like to see no more than $250. They look to be the older blade/blade so the new sonic film caps/mill resistors on the crossover will cost at least $300 for both you doing the work. They look real clean so they are worth it. You don't have to do this right away but it will make a difference. Plan on replacing the tweeters also later on.

You may also want to consider using Dayton caps from Parts Express. Good caps that are inexpensive (relative to the cost of the speakers). I installed them in a pair of SDA 2's (side by side tweeter model) and they sound really good. YMMVSDA SRS 2.3TL's

Picked up a pair of 5jr's this afternoon for 20 bucks. They sound great, listening to some Black Sabbath right now. Anyway they appear to have the sl3000 tweets. Are these the originals for these speakers? Thanks for any feedback.

I have a set of sl2500's they are black. I believe the sl3000 are black also. The SL2000 are silver looking which may turn somewhat yellow with age.Since we don’t know where we are going we have to stick together in case someone gets there….Ken Kesey.

Polk developed the SL1000 in the early 80s, followed by the SL2000. Around 1987 Polk began work on the SL3000/Tri-Laminate Tweeter design. They were introduced 1989 I believe, and the SL2500 was a less expensive version of it. They appear to have the same or similar magnet structures and voice coils, but the dome material is different between the two. That's why the RDO-198-1 is the replacement for both the 2500 and 3000.After removing the tweeter on the 5jr I was able to verify that westmassguy is correct. It in fact is the sl2500. They have a date stamped indicating March 1992. I could have sworn that somewhere along the line I had read that these were produced only in the mid 80's. Can someone offer clarification. Thanks

You got a Polkapalooza going on down there.
Need to find out which SDA-2s they are.

See if you can get a photo with a grill off, however looking at the rear images makes me think they are of the same variety as mine, 3 6.5s, dual SL-2000 blade/blade...but I could be wrong. I paid $120 Canadian for mine with one dead tweeter however.
Yea I don't need them. Not sure I really want them. But I sent an email anyway to try and get a picture with no grill and the interconnect.HT/2Channel: Emotiva MMC-1, Adcom GFA-555II, Polk SDA 3.1's, Teac TN-300 TT, Polk Center and Sub.

CS-350 LS Center Speaker - Atlanta ($100)
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/ele/5331274488.html
No Affiliation with CL ad above.
In 2014, I purchased a CS-350 LS speaker from a Mass. resident's CL ad that westmassguy posted here.
I paid $80 shipped which was a great buy as this speaker is wonderful with my SDA speakers. David also called the op and convinced him to ship it to Georgia. Most likely 2As, but could possibly be early 2B Studios.

Ok so they messaged me back Blade Blade interconnect and they don't have it.
These are 2A if they have the blade/blade. That's a lot of good sound for $150, even without the interconnect. You can jam some bare speaker wire in the sockets (top blade on one speaker to bottom blade on other and vise versa) until you can build a new one with better wire and speakon connectors. I'd buy them if all the drivers worked.
