F1 is a great guy. 30 days is what they have done forever for those of us who just need a little slap on the wrist. And we should be happy it applies to everyone, both old and new members. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision.Vinyl, the final frontier...

If anyone feels they have direct evidence that another CP member has engaged in activities that violate any of the forum's rules, you are welcome to detail them to me as a PM and include specific examples to back up this claim.
If they seem to have merit I will forward them to Polk management for their consideration.
And here is where the problem lies. Judging by this, it appears that those who are making the decisions, don't actually read the board. If they did, it would be obvious who the trolls are & nobody would have to jump through hoops to get them removed. -

Something is fundamentally wrong here.
The cable debate as an example is one where people could express their opinion and move on. Let the trolls post away that lamp cord is as good as MIT. Anyone with half a brain would discount their post. Why do we feel the need to answer every troll? My opinion is: just like it's easier for the troll to post behind a screen name and keyboard (something they wouldn't do in person in life), it's much easier to rebut and argue to validate YOUR opinions. Post your opinion and let the readers decide what they chose to believe. Don't engage opposing viewpoints because it leads to nothing but what has happened here. In fact one COULD argue (and maybe polk admin subscribes to this) that posting opinions is what this forum shold be about.........that responding in the way many of these "newbs" or "core members" engage in trolling activity by reacting, belittling, and generally being disrespectful to opposing viewpoints. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. My granddad always told not to hold others to a higher standard than I hold myself. If you respond to the bait by trolling a troll, admin has made it clear where they side. Adjust or leave. Much the same is sports, the retaliation often is where they penalize........just my .02. I like the forum and will continue to read, learn and contribute. And ignore the trolls
The problem is not the discussion itself. The problem is the troll, when asked to support his claims, goes on to insult those asking him to prove his claims. The knucklehead that was here just last week saying ten seconds is enough time to evaluate an amp's sonic abilities comes to mind here. He then reports someone asking him to prove it or move on as bullying...
Bottom line is we need to do a better job of taking care of members that contribute and caring a little less about the whiners.

There's a Flag button for a reason. Flag it or PM Ken to deal with it. The other option is to simply ignore the claim/troll, and also flag it. Do you really need for someone to prove his claim on such an obviously incorrect statement? If the troll then engages in bulling then flag the subsequent post. Don't feed the trolls by responding to them.

No what we are asking is the trolls to quit lurking around, just waiting for a new OP to asking legitimate questions and then diving in, purposely starting banter and running these new people off and then vanish back into hiding waiting for the next thread to crap all over.
They are the ones that need to ignore these threads not the other way around.Post edited by txcoastal1 on2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

Lets not call them "banned members" anymore. Let me suggest "temporarily non-participating user".Vinyl, the final frontier...

Notice how X hasn't made a peep even though I've seen him lurking all day. That to me speaks volumes about his intent and character and purpose. He's not even trying to defend his presence here, just lurking in the shadows at what crap he's stirred up.
That is all I will say, so as not to get a time out.

Ken, does management not see X's negative pot stirring comments? Are they okay with him being a troll on this forum? Is being a troll, going out of your way to antagonize people all the time. Not breaking a rule? I just don't get it.

I don't think an audio video forum is a place where we need to have this kind of crap anymore. I really have no time for it. I'm here because I love Audio and video, I love Polk speakers, they are a very big part of the reason why I love home audio equipment. I have sold Polk speakers for years and love this company for generations. I have had Polk speakers in my family since the late 70's early 80's.

Come one now. Are you saying you've never seen him purposely say things to stir the pot around here??? In all honesty, I've never ever seen another forum audio related or not. Put up with trolls like X.

Just because I don't agree with it, I'm not gonna attack said person because this is how they feel. It would be like me fighting with all of you who don't use Audioquest because I feel it's the best cable made period. Thats my opinion. You can share in that opinion or do your own thing. I'm only here to give advise, learn some cool things from you guys and teach those who want my teaching. I can only give out information, you choose what you want to do with it.
Same goes with Amps and anything else audio video. I like what I like, I have seen things that just about every single person on this forum will never experience and I have very strong opinions about the equipment I choose to use , Install and sell. But that doesn't give me the right to push it on anyone else or challenge anyone to their own beliefs. We don't all have to agree folks.
If someone is doing this so called Trolling, I choose to ignore them. I have no time for it and I'm not here to police the forum. If I see something getting way out of hand I will contact Ken or the powers that be and let them be aware that our forum that we have been apart of for decades is being soiled for said Thread.

Wow...what a pisser. Been here almost 6 years lurkin and postin and always thot the "P" in PM meant private not public. Hope they decide to come back because they will have that choice. I am fine with a management decision. Polk is generous to provide an open forum of ideas. Still a pisser.

Come on folks, lets get a grip here. There's an easy solution available to us.
The IGNORE button for obvious trolls. Click it, it's just that easy. That is unless you enjoy feeding into and enabling these trolls which in turn means you are part of the problem. When the well dries up, they'll move on.
Jesse will somehow manage to live through this horrific ordeal. His 30 day vacation is something we get to bust on him about at Polkfest. You can bet I will...and we will laugh! He's a great guy! I hope he discovers a new hair style during his vacation, but i'm not betting on it. Maybe i'll reach out to him and see if he wants to go get pedis and discuss lamp cord dynamics.
No excuses! -

Do we know that Jesse was PMing X. If so I can understand why he would go off on him. X will push and push and knowing Jesse can be very passionate about this hobby, yeah it probably got ugly.
