Looking for some advice. What are these and is the price fair?

RTA-12 at a reasonable price. Those look like the originals. I'd try to find a later pair.
Agree, the later generations are better, and it's common to find them in the same price range."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
The later versions have improved crossovers that help eliminate the issues of running side by side midwoofers, they are mirror imaged with a left and right speaker that can only be placed in the left and right positions. Imaging and soundstage is much improved. Wait it out.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Torrington CT. Pair of Re-Veneered SDA-2A cabinets. Would also work for 2B.

The Veneer alone is worth price.

^^ He had these cabs originally on eBay. I asked him about time involved and where he purchased the veneer. He replied quickly to two questions knowing that I could not pick them up since I am located in GA.

^^I I paid $140.00 for a pair in excellent condition with stands. I turned around and spent another $250.00 rebuilding the crossovers with Sonic Caps and the newer tweeters. Mine are the series II so I could use the RD0-198 tweeter. So now I have $500.00 in a pair of $140.00 speakers...lol, but they sound really nice.Since we don’t know where we are going we have to stick together in case someone gets there….Ken Kesey.
