Have you tried any other Rogue beers? Something you actually like?

I've actually tried only a couple of Rogue's beers. Their complete line is a little harder to come by out this way.
Yellow Snow IPA, Brutal IPA, American Ale, and the ever common Dead Guy Ale. All were OK but unfortunately, the Voodoo Donut is the one that stuck out the most.

If Guinness is your standard then you are a stout man. Check out Left Hand Milk Stout , Riverhorse Oatmeal Milk Stout , A****er Milk Stout , Youngs Double Chocolate Milk Stout , Rouge Chocolate Stout. That should get you started.
If your a Coffee kinda guy then looking into Troegs Java head is a very good Idea.

Thanks man! I will keep an eye out for these.

That's a great question. According to one of the head guys at Brew Kettle they modeled Rajah after Head Hunter IPA! You can tell when you drink them, they both have that bit of citrus taste to them but I prefer White Rajah. I see your in Cleveland so you are probably pretty familiar with Brew Kettle.

Heck yeah. The Brew Kettle is a nice meeting place with 30 taps. Very fortunate to have BK, Fat Heads, GLBC, Market Garden and countless other great breweries close by!

Brew Kettle has a great list during Cleveland Beer Week.

I have to say I favor Head Hunter but just a wee little bit.

Been enjoying New Belgium Ranger IPA on the beach. Amazing nose - piney citrus, mainly grapefruit/orange, and floral. I sniff it the whole walk down the boardwalk. Neighbors probably think I'm nuts, hehe. Bright chewy hops and fruit with a bit of honey. Very refreshing and not expensive.

Also enjoying some Natty Greene's (out of Greensboro) at outdoor concerts in NC, esp Cannonball IPA and Black Powder Imperial Stout.

If any of you find yourself in WI, i suggest checking out New Glarus Beer. The most popular one is Spotted Cow, but i don't really care for that one. Beer Advocate rates the brewery as World Class, they have some good beer. I like Laughing Fox, Coffee Stout, Two Women and the fruit beers the best.

Tonight it's a big a$$ Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale out of my Big A$$ beer glass. The fall brews are already out in early August, kind of like putting out the Xmas brews out in late September.

I read through this thread just to see if anyone brought up New Glarus Brewing Co.

I like a lot of their beers, but my FAVORITE beer just came back in stock on limited release. I haven't had one in quite awhile. Needless to say, enjoying one now.

Abbey style beer. Cleanly aromatic with spicy notes of clove and ginger. Crisp and fragrant up front while gracefully sliding into warm malt notes at the finish.

From what I understand, hops and hemp are related in the plant world. I remember once coming back (I wasn't driving) from a keg tapping of HopSlam (you beer guys know), and I had the best happy buzz from just 2 pints. It didn't really feel like a beer buzz.

    Beer Theories

Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

    Babe Ruth

"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day."

    Lyndon B. Johnson

"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."

    Paul Horning
"24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not."

    H. L. Mencken

"When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk and go to heaven!"

    George Bernard Shaw

"Beer is proof that God loves us

and wants us to be happy."

    Benjamin Franklin

One night at Cheers, Cliff Clavin said to his buddy, Norm Peterson:
"Well, ya see, Norm, it's like this.. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members! ; In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine! That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Have not seen it at the liquor store for a while those two are the last of the stash. If you do find it the green is a bitter ale, the gold is a smooth lager type. Both are pretty good. Me and the wife went out to a brew pub tonight for a bite and a brew they had a pumpkin ale from the brewery that makes Flat Tire, anyways this pumpkin ale had cranberry added to it not bad had a couple the Wife had her usual Warsteiner.

They can throw the craft beer on the shelf but no redneck is going to even bat an eye at something with flavor.

We went to a beer/music festival this past weekend and drank some good beers. My favorite brewery was Chestnut Brew Works, which is based out of Morgantown, WV. Very good pale ale and nut brown, my favorite was his wheat beer.

Also a good stout from Mountain State Brewing Company.

Both are local breweries, Mountain State distributes around WV/MD and I think PA. Chestnut Brew Works is super small, I think he has 3 or 4 places he distributes in Morgantown.

This thread was settling to the bottom of the pile so.....

I sampled Stone's Ruin Ten Anniversary Ale this weekend. Highly recommended!
    Attachment not found.

Another was the imperial IPA Resin from Sixpoint Craft Ales in Brooklyn.
    Attachment not found.
These guys have a pretty interesting lineup of beers.
The brewmaster graduated from the four-year Diplom Braumeister program at the Weihenstephan Institute
in Freising, Germany. He sports a tattoo of the Brauerwappen, Germany's Brewer Coat of Arms, on his leg.

Two breweries I want to sample are Three Floyds and Cigar City. Three Floyds is distributed in the Chicagoland
area so a trip to visit my Aunt in Joliet might be in order. Cigar City does have a distributor in Philly but haven't
shipped to Pennsylvania in a while due to local demand.

Any opinions on these two breweries??

Sixpoint makes some damn good beer. I like the Resin as well as the Brownstone.

Stone makes one called Enjoy by... that has a different date on the different releases of it. If you can find that on draft or bottle grab it. They distribute it so it gets to the bar/store within it's enjoy by date, phenomenal stuff.

Buy a 1/6 of the Cigar City. Most brewers always have kegs in stock and most packies will order whatever you want.

    Everyone should have a kegerator....EVERYONE!!!
