You beat me to it, thanks. -
No, just listening to Heart on my Polk Monitor system with an old Technics receiver while waiting for a basketball scoring game between the Saints and the Cardinals to start.
If you're not curious enough to look around for yourself, then don't ask.
But whenever you get the time, feel free to search for yourself.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I believe the reason some get so carried away with their lust for Emo is that they come from a 300 buck avr and Emo may be their first amp. They are blown away by what an amp can do. As far as some comparing them to slayers of Krell, and the likes of other higher end brands, I have to call B.S.HT SYSTEM-
Sony 850c 4k
Pioneer elite vhx 21
Sony 4k BRP
SVS SB-2000

Well then enjoy your listening and basketball game. If when you are done, you may find it educational to search through the Emo threads to find the outlandish claims and the overreactions posted by Emoettes who disagree with their point of view concerning their Emos. No one likes their baby called ugly but when a previous Emo owner i.e. one who has experienced an Emo says it wasn't for them or that it just plain sounded bad they have been attacked by the Emoettes.

Because it's like herpes.
Can you think of another brand that has blessed us with such an infestation?I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Herpes is bad. Not so with Emotiva.
They are affordable and just work so well with Polk's so they are popular!
Some blame those blue lights.
Whether or not they work, and the brand itself, isn't the problem. I'm not associating herpes with Emotiva as a company. I'm associating herpes with the infestation of Emoettes that come here to spout how their gear is awesome, and telling us to throw away our old **** Adcom and Carver amps. THAT'S the herpes.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Not to mention that Emos are on a par with Krell and other such higher end products. -
There are many outlandish claims here. Why single out Emotiva?
You left out the rest of my statement. -
That sounds worse than being attacked by locusts, fire-ants and others.
For a guy who is so sensitive to name calling and uncivil discussions you seem to be very forgiving of the Emoetts.I'll gladly trade my new Emo amp for a new Rotel Class D amp.:)
That's great if you've done an A/B comparison between the Emo and Rotel.
As I've said before, I've never heard and Emo nor have the desire to. However, the claims of Emo being on a par with high end amps and the Emoettes reaction has turned me off to Emo. -
Please, who actually said that or did you just make that up?
Let's be fair.
Please take the time to read through the Emo threads here. -
Are the amps you talk about in the second quote the same ones you were talking about in the first quote? If not what do you have and what are you looking to get for them?
And I gotta ask, isn't
"Saw some krells on there today that look AWESOME but a little over my budget right now"
kind of what so many have been saying about affordability? One in hand is better than two in the bush, so to speak.
well what I had originally to start out was 4 amps, 2 XPA-1s for mono blocks, XPA 3 and UPA 2 and was using them for HT in a 7.1 system. I was planning on getting a pre/pro but had trouble with finding one and being able to play with them as there aren't very many shops by me. So I bought a new AVR and decided to use the 5 channels on that to power the channels the amps were driving. I found that I didn't really notice a huge difference and preferred using the AVR. I kept the mono blocks, which I still have. I am the second owner. Original bought them in 2009 like july/aug. he paid full amount, I paid around 1800 and would be looking for around 1700 or so not including shipping. I'm just trying to find what I want to replace them with.
and so what if I said the krells were a little out of my budget right now, I'm fine with waiting to get what I really want, if I know it will sound great and perform just as well. I just don't find why I should settle for an OK sound when I can spend a little bit more and get a better sound that I will enjoy a lot more. I also want to make sure I'm looking at a lot of different brands and not get hung up on one as there are SEVERAL I've been trying to decide on. -

I don't know much about herpes, no experience. Although this is the second time I've seen that phrase used here in the last couple weeks. I hope you are seeking treatment. -

Yep! Already cleansed my system of the Emotiva experience! Treatment complete! Thanks for the concern though.

Sorry, I meant the statements I have made in this recent debate. Better? -
Please, who actually said that or did you just make that up?

Actually, as a matter of fact, i'm not really making that up. Multiple "emoettes" have made statements such as "You can keep your crusty old Adcom amps with failing caps."
You can look around.
PS: For the record, i'm not a huge Adcom fan, either. I would like to get my ears a pair of 565s, though. But so far, they just don't play too nice with my setup.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I don't know that anyone ever said they make the best amps any more than anyone ever said that Polk makes the best speaker. I think that the issue has been blown out of proportion.
Some took offence that Emotiva used the word "Reference" in their advertising literature and then did a Monty Python type ridicule take on that. Fine, if that's what you like.
However at the present time, for the money spent both Polk Audio and Emotiva both offer a nice combination of performance and value. They are for the middle of the road audio enthusiast like me and many others on this forum. That said, they are not for everyone.
no my whole reason that I have a problem is that a lot of 'claims" and statements that Emo owners make I found not true. I posted some reason and explanation and I'm not going to do it again. I listened to them, didn't like them, and want to try out other things. I'm sick and tired of peoples attitudes with it though, "greatest amps ever" "better than an anthem P2" "greatest value ever" I'm sick of hearing.
If you like them and think they are a great value, good for you, just don't preach to me. Its like the owners have to "convince" everyone else they are soo good when if they were sooo good wouldn't everyone already be owning them?????
If you like them with your polks thats fine, I just want to try others out before I settle on something because I'm always going to wonder what if there's something better out there. -
Do any of you morons actually spend tiem listening to your gear, or do you just sit here and bash Emotiva products? I mean this freakin' thread is insane.

I multi-task. I'm at my friends place listening to his Maggi 3.6s fed by two XPA-1s and bashing Emotiva. These amps really make his speakers sing. But, I still hate Emoettes. My friend Matt is in agreement too. Emo fanboys give the company a bad name. -

Has anyone else tried the XPA-1's?
I think more have tried the XPA-2 amps on this forum and in general. I've tried both. There are many amps I prefer over Emotiva except for Odyssey Audio.
Is there a thread for hating Odyssey? -

The XPAs, I was hoping it might be an RPA. Oh well, can't afford the XPAs.
I think maybe you misunderstood my comment about the Krells. It sounded like you may have been without power, and could not understand going without any sound while you were deciding what to move on to. -

I am not one to deprive myself of music when buying other gear. I also have a lot to think about and do my research on before I acutally will consider buying anything. To me I want to make an educated decision about something and give it time and thought and not be quick to make a hasty decision. Plus there is a member I want to have listen to the XPA-1s in his set up before I sell them as he wants to formulate an opinion of them himself. In the mean time they'll be here until I can finally make up my mind, which with the way I'm going won't happen for awhile.
