Emotiva Story.

I have no Emotiiva gear, probably never will. I do find it ridiculous that people keep calling it entry level though. Everyone I know buys separates for their first system.
Entry level separates.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I am running my two fronts which are RTIA9's using audioquest alpha snake interconnects with signal cable ultra series for speaker cables. My amps all sit out in the open on a painted black board of solid maple my brother gave me. They are not inclosed in any way.
I have found that they do get hot, in my opinion. I too read they are very cool running but can say from when I used them, I found they got hot pretty quick. I did hear from a few people that they run cool to the touch and can't even tell they have been on when running when left on for hours. To me this is not true.
Also just and FYI called the company about the status lights because even cranked up to very high volumes mine never moved, I got it to move once and it was on transformers at like wall shaking volumes and it moved up 1 space and back down. I guess they are not sensative at all as that is what Emo customer service stated and that they are more for "looks" and don't really mean anything. I don't really mind they are for looks but if they are there would like them to be a bit more sensative because then whats the point of even putting them there. Its just a waste of space and parts to make the "status" LEDs ect to me then.
My old AVR ran very warm. The XPA-1s are cooler than it. but not by much. -
and yes I ment Entry level in terms of sperates as I was using an AVR as a pre/pro and then amps to see how much of an improvement I had over the amps of the AVR.

My friend has his XPA-1s hooked up to a pair of Magnepan 3.5 speakers. Those inefficient speakers had the lights bouncing. No matter what anyone says, the Rtia9 is a pretty efficient speaker. I called him as well. He indicated his XPA-1s get pretty warm, but never painfully warm.
Correction: My friend is listening to Heavy Metal right now and claims the amps are heating up quite a bit. -
I normally listen from music like tool to classical to electronica such as DJ Tiesto, Sasha, Digweed, House, classic rock music. For me doesn't matter whats on still get the same amount of heat.

Do you have a new pair or a old pair? The ones I've used are only a few months old. I wonder if they've been retweaked. Perhaps this is another Emotiva quirk. -
I'm the second owner. First person bought them I would say around summer time. Serials are in the 200's and I'm not sure were they are at now with them. If you interested in getting 2 more let me know, like I said I do want to try out some other things for the A9's.

just drop it!
my only point is isnt there better things to discuss compared to 45 pages of trash talking one certain brand.....i bow out
Grow a sense of humor. -
WE is all the people who are of tired of people bashing a certain brand......i cant be the only one!
Seriously, ive never heard a emo amp so i cant post a relevant review, but i wouldnt bash them or someone else, if they choose to spend their mony in that direction....just my .02
Wouldnt say theyre the best but have hard time believing that their products are complete junk as most on here claim...
I wouldn't get so bent out of shape over it. We are talking about Polk Forums after all.
Think about this:
Out of AVSForum, audioholics, hometheatershack, htguide.com, tweakcityaudio.com, audiokarhma.com, avforums.co.uk, partsexpress.com, diyaudio.com and ANY other site I have failed to mention.
None of them have childish threads like this... The other thing you will find:
A lot of happy Emotiva owners that have owned:
Levinson, Lexicon, Adcom, Hafler, PassLabs, Classe, McIntosh, ATI, Rotel, Parasound, Cary, Carver, NAD, Krell etc...
Who cares, it's a bunch of people on a companies forum who's highest end product costs $2500 (not knocking Polk, just stating an unarguable fact).
When you wrestle with a pig you both end up dirty and the pig likes it. -

Don't let the door hit you in the ****! BTW I've read the same kind of banter on the AVSforum so get your facts straight. -
Emotiva is to High End Audio as Obama is to Presidential Leadership.

Not like this... I have yet to see an AVSforum thread like this for a company (not a particular product) that has historically a solid, well performing line up -

You are, but there is this handy 'view post' button. Let me know if you need help finding it. I'll see if there is something exotic and expensive that can help. Since that is the way you role. -

Yeah but we don't talk from a high horse like you do. You are a, "do as I say not as I do sort of guy." -

So why waste mouse clicks. Put me on ignore and leave it be. By the way, I don't role nor do I roll with exotic or expensive things. Check my signature. -
That's nice, juju. Why don't you tuck your tail and go troll AVS for awhile then. And always remember, nobody likes you.

That's nothing compared to you Keiko: You don't even like yourself...
BTW, what other boards do you participate on? -

I found my last amp, at least for a long time. Thanks again for the recommendation.SolidSqual wrote: »How are your Wyred4Sound components treating you these days? Let's add that brand to this mix as well. They're another great company worth hazing.

Since we're so childish, why do you feel the need to bless us with your presence?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
Why oh why do these Emo threads always turn into a pissing match ?
Look, given any product, by any brand, some will like it, some not. It's when the fanboys start calling Emo a "reference" product that the whips and chains come out. Emo caters to the first time seperates buyer, they know their market targets and build products accordingly. Nuthin' wrong with that. High end, they are not. Reference, they are not. Budget friendly with decent capabilities, yeah, maybe. End of story, nothing more, nothing less.HT SYSTEM-

Question asked in red. Question answered in bold. Simple isn't it?;)
However don't forget about the trolls who just stir up the **** like ju ju does. -
Ahhhh, juju just needs a friend. Maybe somebody like CL. Ya know, to toss his salad.
How would you know? You don't even like yourself so saith the god of trolls. -
