Hey jax. There is an amount of moderation here. As said before, they're just not out in the open as some other forums. I've been here a while and let me be the first to say, they WILL hand out infractions. I have some.:o
But on the other hand, I have met some great people here and consider many of them good friends. Some will bend over backwards to help others.
Most of what you see here is just words on a monitor. It's the GTG's, the PF's or just two Polkies hanging out on a Saturday listening to music and fiddling with their gear.
If you want to be a part of that, relax and listen to what others have to say. If not you may be losing out on a few new friends and a wealth of information.
We're not ALL bad people. Just some of us....like me.....and NJ.

Russ,, that is the most profound statement you have made in a while,, I detect a level of sincerity and compassion in your post--a big "tip of the hat to you sir" ;)

I agree 100% and we should hear more profound statements from Russ. Even though I am still kind of new around here I know Russ has a lot of potential.

Damn I am going to be struck by lightening

The OP is kiddin',right??? He's throwin' flames and then wants a mod for protection???

The very best thing about this site is people say what they think.I hold this forum up as an example of letting people have their say.Few audio sites like this one,I'm buyin' the next round.

I agree that this site needs no one over-moderating it. We are adults, I don't need a mod telling me I cant say a damn curse word or having a valid argument! I have left many sites because of too many moderators playing mom.

Russ only says profound things when the assless chaps haven't been suited up for a while.... :p

This site is indeed family and the mods are good parents. They plenty step in when things get out of control. Otherwise, we children here take care of things among ourselves... with "mom and dad" monitoring, but not stepping in until the time to do so.

Got real busy on other things, then the computer crashed and then I went into lurk mode for a while. I was sufficiently motivated to recover my log in info a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes it is fun simply being in the audience, as opposed to being on the stage!

I think Polk is a lot more civil than most other forums I've been on (minus a couple of users, but hey, that's to be expected), and definitely more informative. It's not nearly as bad one of the local car forums I'm a member of; that is just a giant flame war 24/7 and a bunch of people who like to think they know what they are talking about and don't. This has been my most enjoyable stay on a forum yet.

Speaking of moderators and forums
I had a couple of my post deleted over at Audiokarma because the moderator feels I was abusive to cornhole. He was giving real bad advice as usual and I was clear and concise with him. In my opinion I was not abusive but the Moderator must have thought I was. I guess its a matter of opinion.
