My children think I am mean sometimes. Jax are you one of my long lost children? I have spent time all over the country and since you sound like one of them you may just be!!
I know Russ is not one of them!!!!!! Thank god
Just don't go to IA then we would have to be dealing with children of the corn....
WI you'll just get snowmen haha.
and I personally don't care about swearing for the record, I'm just saying most say don't do it, but it does..... -
not to mention TLW.......well, mums the word out of me, but where else can you scarf on your buds wife when he leaves the country for the mere cost of electricity, hell the lights are off most of time anyway, well, that strobe light thingy with the feather she pulled out that one time was cool...........
look you either get it or you don't, its about audio and its not about audio, its Club Polk.

cstmar01,
I'm not mad at all. It is what it is. I think the forum would be better and have more diverse and more interesting posters if the standards were raised. That's my perspecitive as a new member.
Since the standards are pretty low and I've seen zero moderation so far, I have two basic choices if I continue to post on the forum. On possibly strategy is to just ignore the childish sacastic and sometimes profane posts. I admit that this is a hard strategy to consistently employ. Especially as their is a bit of a clique here and sacastic one liners are often followed by juvenile encouragement like "good one", "hilarious, hahaha", "that ones a classic".
OR, I can get down in the muck myself and engage in the same type of posting. Something I can be very good at. But, thinking about it, is that what I really want to spend my time doing? Posting childish and sarcastic one liners? Nope.
Hmmm so why did you need to post this? I think you found your answer right there btw.
Never said that you have to do what other people do, thats your choice. If you decide to, then fine if you don't, then don't worry about it. People will act the way they want to, if we were to mod all of it out, well I think it would make rather dry boreing convos but thats just me, I can have that at work if I wanted to subject myself to dry convo's all day long.... -
It's getting expensive sending out tissues to whiners.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

I'm new to this forum, but not at all new to internet message boads. It occurs to me that this forum would benefit from some type of formal moderator. In the short time I've been participating I've seen quite a few posts with personal attacks, profanity, and lots of childish comments. I'm not talking about spirited debate here. I encourgage spirited debate and I think it makes the forum better. I'm talking about a level of civility that is not present. A vigilant moderator while occassionally annoying, can make all the difference. I've seen this work on other sites.
If polk cannot provide full time moderators, they should appoint frequent posters to the position. If they already have, I have seen no signs of it and the existing moderators should be replaced or raise their standards.
One final thought, I'm not posting this to attack anyone in particular. I'm just suggesting that this forum could be a better experience for everyone if we raised the bar. It might attract even more regular visitors as well. I've no doubt that the coarse nature of some posts is a turn off to many new comers.
I try to scan for any F words or **** in your thread but I could not find one.
You need to leave this forum or start to 'man-up" with such profanity.
Think about the forum as a boot-camp or better yet a BIG HOUSE that you see in the movies where the new-comer is someone's "****". Individual rape or gang rape either way, you take it and suck it in or just leave.
I have a lot of so-call enemies here but I like it that way. Birds fly in flock and Eagle flies alone. You can see a pattern of certain individuals as just followers and they just follow the trace without any principal or real issues. Also, you can filter out certain individuals as respected leaders whom do not need to ridicule someone else weakness to prove that they are better. The Napoleon syndrome or the littleman sysdrome exists within and among us.
Overall, I like the way the moderator would not sensor but rather let the individual be himself or herself. It's a complicated public forum since we all have different background and different family tree. Good luck and welcome to your new forum. -

Yeah, most of the trolls usually make themselves look foolish, examples would be the the last couple of posts comparing the forum to the "Big House", so a moderator is not needed.....

Are we talking abt the LCD response time? GTG of an LCD could range from 2ms to 8ms. What's with all the acronym ?.....:D -

Just like audio reviews, it's purely subjective. Where's the "IMO " ? -

My limited personal observation of recent posts is that you and mini-me are the cause of most recent BS, and pot stirring. Your Emotiva thread was specifically designed to cause trouble. Both of you guy's posts on high-end equipment show neither of you know little of hi-fi, but are willing to provide advice on a subject in which you have little knowledge or experience.

We could most certainly turn the place into a police state but I'd rather that not happen. Polk receives no more complaints about conduct than any other forum. And they're usually from active, posting members not newer personalities.
To say that certain actions wouldn't be tolerated on other forums is not a bad statement. We tend to moderate offline and most problems end up solving themselves with train wreck threads.
We are actively discussing some tweaks to the rules and even long term members should be wary but for the most part, the forum isn't bad. Every forum has a certain dynamic or ebb and flow....this one corners pretty tightly from time to time. I've been on some dead forums, dry forums, dangerous forums, boring forums and lively, well manicured forums. Club Polk is none of that and I'm not quite sure what to call it honestly.
If you have specific examples of how you have been attacked or wronged, simply email them to me mnestor@polkaudio.com
I'm betting you've had less hassle than when I was a newbie. Active moderation is happening now and sole purpose moderation will never EVER happen. We also don't require more moderators although I'm sure 20 hands would go up, most of which would be awful choices. I would suggest that some of you folks relax a bit as they're more eyes on you than you realize right now.

Is it you Jax? If it is you, then you need to be someone's **** for some ****-slapping big time. -

I have several pictures of attacks but I am keeping those for self enjoyment.
if there is one thing I would never do its volunteer to be any sort of moderator, just not my style, seems about the same as having your sister stick her tongue down your throat while you gag to death. maybe some others would like to do it though, gag me that is, bring it.
I dig the senior members.

until you know the secret handshake you can't pop-off or have a newb I am here to save you opinion, because believe me your echoing, of course if you disagree with me your opinion is wrong because in every forum the senior echo resonates over the newb, but it does not matter, if you do not know the handshake and some other circle code stuff you become undercooked stuffed troll with canary feathers coming out your mouth.
