Looks like they have a $15 limited and $30 unlimited data plan for the 3G access, via AT&T. There's no contract though, so you can cancel whenever, which makes me wonder if AT&T is going to offer these up with a contract like they do all their other devices?

    Amazing.

Didn't say it was ****, just don't see any value in it. So far it certainly hasn't lived up to the knee-jerk, leg-humping hype.

I dont' think it's overpriced, I"m actually surprised at the lowish price.

I just don't think there's anything innovative about it. Apple's "thing" is putting things that already existed before together in a new and easy to use way. They didn't invent the touchscreen phone, but the iPhone just made it easily usable.

Tablets have been around for a long time, and I really thought they'd have something... NEW to bring to the table. I just watched that whole presentation (kinda) and they brought nothing new to the table. It's a giant iPod Touch / iPhone (depending on if you buy the 3G or not), without a camera.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Its just like anything else. Speakers, Amps, Cars toothbrushs, down to Coke or Pepsi

    Choice.

It will fit and work and with some and not others.

I personally will not be getting one. But overall i like it even though its Apple. Im not a PC fanboy. If it fits ME i will buy it.

    Flame on

I like it and loved the unlocked comment. Sorry AT&T and Sprint but Verizon will be taking more customers for sure now.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Yeah, it's unlocked but only has a 3G GSM interface chip (at least, so far). So you can only plug in GSM stuff....

Yeah, I'm no expert, but I think unlocked just means that the other GSM guys like T-Mobile can get in on the action as well

I think it looks pretty sweet. I'm thinking that some of my tax return might go towards one. Because my laptop is now pushing 5 years (yes, it's a mac) it is running rather slow due to having too much space clogged up. With the ipad I would be able to just use the net or small things quicker without putting even more of a burden on the powerbook. For only 500 bucks it seems like a good solution to buying a new computer overall.

A few things about this. Being a apple users I will say that I enjoy apple's products.

    However

    Corny Name

    Tad Expensive

Expected more out of the interface but than again it could be more than what I am thinking.

I doubt it has much REAL use.

Yes even me being a apple user and lover I still will say this is probably not one of their best products.

If it truly can't multitask, which most things I'm seeing seem to indicate it cannot... I'm sorry, there's no way it replaces a laptop in ANY capacity. Tell me the last time you used your laptop but didn't have at least two programs running at once that you were jumping back and forth between.

I agree. No USB ports? VGA out only? I'll stick to a netbook.
