    The "Beast"

a stunning looking and sounding Jungson JA-88 80wpc class A brute of an integrated amp. with the coolest blue light that doubles as a lighthouse to signal ships in Puget Sound during the those nights when the fog is to thick :p

seriously, this thing would be more than welcome in my house any time. love the analog VU meters. :D

You should have seen the look of disgust on Jake's face when he caught me rubbing my naughty bits on his amp  :p

Holy crap that thing is awesome.

It really was quite a piece of equipment, sounded as good as it looked too. Even my wife was like "why don't we have one of those?" She mostly liked the pretty blue lights though, but if that's what it takes, lol.

Had a great time as well. Although it is true that Russ had pants on the whole time, we did find out that somebody had loose nuts!

Thanks to Jake for offering the place and the food. Thanks to Polk for the generosity.

Good to see some familiar faces again, and good to meet everyone else. Let's not wait so long to do it again.

Can someone please put names to all the faces? I know a few people but its nice to know who everyone is.

Hopefully I won't screw this up, lol. I have a terrible memory and I totally forgot the guy on the left, but he was really nice and had a really nice camera, lol. (sorry) From Left to Right in the picture in post #212(excluding the first guy) Cameron (cambir) Jake (zingo) Jeff (wutadumsn23) Al's friend Roger (not a member) Russ (lightman1) Al (dangerboy) Jeff (bikerboy) Ken (ken brydson) and Geoff (geoff727) Hopefully I got them right, lol. Great bunch of guys and it was a great time. Also, the pretty lady in a few of the pics. is my better half Rosie, she came to make sure there was no "adult entertainment", lol and actually ended up having a good time.

since everyone had such a great time.. there is talk about doing another one of these some time.. that would be ok with me. :) Hooked up to his 60wpc Adcom.

I would have to agree what has already been mentioned. Cameron's Mon 5's were very good sounding.. I think it surprised even him. Certainly did me.

I think Ken brought LS50's. Again, that was my first time hearing the 50's, and they were very good sounding as well.

Tube buffer just plain rocks. Helped tame my 7b's... but still pretty shrill.. Got some good info from geoff27 about tweaks for them. Maybe even have to consider rebuilding the X-overs again to something more less shrill sounding.

Bikerboy's (Jeff) SDA 2A's were nice sounding as well with that Jungson amp.

I have to say the TSi500's were very nice sounding as well.. that's my first time hearing any current model Polk's.

How about we move it to a "Portland" area meet?

    :)

It's a bit much for me to justify to my wife me driving 5 hours to listen to speakers.

Portland would be fine too... and there is no reason another meet couldn't take place later this year.. Sept in the Rose city is very nice weather ;)

Just need someone to step up and get the ball rolling. There may even be interest from another forum's members.

I'd be up for it.. so you got you and me so far ryan

My good friend, who I did the Monitor 5's in piano-gloss black for, lives just down in Salem. I'm thinking he'd probably be interested if we had a meet in Portland. He'd probably be happy to bring the 5's. Of course, I'd have to clear it with him before moving the speakers.

Wish you were there too. My 50's were enjoyed, the 70's and 90's would have been a welcome addition. Thanks for getting the ball rolling on this :)

I have made some updates to my theater. If anyone is close you are more than welcome to take a peek one evening or perhaps have a movie night. I usually only seat about 7 max. Really, I haven't had any audiophiles come to my room but I still need to 0 volume my db level and tune my setup. Maybe some assistance and some critiquing from anyone that lives near Renton?

Thanks to everyone who pitched in for me to take home Cameron's great SACD player. I have been enjoying its sound the last few nights paired to my new horns :D and I have never heard a clearer sound. I really enjoyed putting the meet together and I'll try to host another next year for any/everyone.

I might be able to swing by, but my first baby is due Nov. 9, so I'll be a little busy soon. :)

I also now have our Marysville building, so if you guys wanted me to host again, it wouldn't be as centrally located. But I do have some fun, new equipment... :D
