been here for less than 2 years and you know what the old club polk was?

The old polk WAS calling each other out. That's why its so close knit, because everyone watched each other's back.

When people call someone out (and actually didnt even mention their name until they came forward), its always the new guys that complain...and when they start taking over the majority, is when we start losing senior members. There's a lot of people that dont post here much anymore, if at all, because of the diluting of this forum from a close knit family to any other forum

I've seen this before on another specialty forum I'm a member of, and it's never good. I think it just violates the trust that a specialty forum like this garners in it members.

I don't mind being called out. Frankly, I just didn't think. It's not like I woke up this morning and said to myself, "I'd like to be beaten down by 15 CP members." I did however wake up thinking I needed to make a quick buck. Clearly, from a legal sense I did nothing wrong; however, a higher standard of morals often governs industries, groups, friends, etc. I disregarded those morals and then fell back into line after the friendly kind of nudge my friends in a football huddle would have give me if I missed practice. There's no hard feelings here.

But, let's just put it on the table. Many of you have said some harsh things despite my reputable past, even indicating I have no honor. Most of you don't know a single thing about me. Other comments suggest there's no way of coming back from what I've done. If that's the case and I am done here, then let me know and I'll cancel my membership here because I'd rather not be a part of a place claiming family values while at the same time utterly unforgiving.

Night, let me know what you want me to do in the morning.

The stance that each has is up to each person. Your stay on this forum does not dictate right nor wrong. I am stating that a sell between two individuals is that, between them. I am not stating what this thread is about is right or wrong. I only mentioned what I did because of discreetness of the transaction of business. The other point I wanted to convey, is that members are attacking members. As you are doing so to me. What is there not to understand? Attacking members. Have I stated anything wrong? I have not sided with anyone, being completely neutral. Yet, the attacks come. My point is proven, this thread is now about attacking one another.

Stop making this personal, and attacking others. This thread has more or less become members against members. This is a very sensitive subject, calling out each person is not going to earn bonus points. Yet, when a thread comes along and everyone complains that it is not the same club polk anymore, why? The very contributions that are occurring now.
Actually it's pretty tame now compared to what it used to be and trust me if I f**k up here someone will let me know as they should. If members didnt speak up when other members have done something wrong then they are doing everyone a dis service and as far as im concerned a sale here shouldndt only be between buyer and seller if something goes wrong, we all need to know.

Some people I am sure think im an assh^le because I am outspoken about my beliefs and thats ok too. But one thing im sure of is that no one here can say I am dishonest and I attempt to treat everyone the same even those that I truly like and I consider my friends if they mess up will be treated no differently and I hope they will do the same for me.

I've never had any problem with you at all, nor have I heard of any other problems. Everyone has a lapse of judgement at times. I think youve been extremely cool with this whole thread, kudos to you. I think it says a lot of who you really are, and I'm not one to let one mistake scar you for life

Mike, you don't need to pay too much attention to this thread and take it seriously or personally. This thread is meant to be for General Discussion and leaving out all the name calling. While I am against what you did, I am more so of forgiving type (regardless of who the guy is). But I admire your honesty to come forward yourself. You don't need to give up being a polkie. I've jumped in on some of these types of threads before and said things I regretted later but I've read every single post and now say this.....

This forum is like no other on the net. In many ways it is like family to me. I had some really sad stuff happen last year and was supported completely. I've said some really stupid things and been called out on it. In my "real" family when one of my brothers or sister steps out of line we talk and work it out, sometimes with harsh words. When they need support we comfort each other, and when someone does something dumb we tell them so. If it's just me that was hurt it's one on one, but if it affects the whole family the family talks. Now I'm not going all Johnboy Walton here but many people here do consider this place a lot like family and within the family there is honor and respect so the normal "free market" rules don't really apply. Sure anyone can join and post but if you want to be a part of this "family" a certain code of conduct is expected.

The other thing that family does is forgive and move on. If the member comes clean and offers a sincere apology we don't continue to bash. Not in my "real" family and not here.
SS knows what's what and made it right. End of discussion. Move on or move out.

This thread has been great because now I know who's a brother (or sister) and who's just sittin' at the table.

Last, the one thing that really impresses me about this forum is that when an issue arises, people communicate. That's a sign of handling the situation well.

Yes, Appadv, people do communicate on here and more often than not in very direct terms. I think that has certainly helped facilitate resolutions.

Well, now that everybody is singing kumbaya around the fire and we can put this whole issue behind us, I have to point out one of the best posts throughout this godforsaken thread. Ben, you've got a talent -- I know its no laughing matter but your post below just had me rolling in laughter, almost to the point where I had to physically remove myself from a public location due to embarrassment (Of course, it was punctuated with a really stern message yet tempered with forgiveness and infused with a sense of morality, delivered only as you can, which is really what made it all come together so well). This isn't the first time you've cracked me up, and I doubt it will be the last.

    Carry on...

John you are being a duche again.

Before I moved up to GA there were a pair of monitor 7's being sold by a polkie at a good price. I mentioned that I wish I had them, and a few Polkies wanted to pitch in on them like a house warming gift. I gracefully did not accept the offer because I knew that times were tough, and they would have had to have been the first thing I would have had to let go.

Mike you EFed up Mike. You disrespected the form of the forum. We need to take a walk down by the river Mike.

I know that Mike is a good guy. I sold him a bunch of cables, and he sold them back to the forum for less than I could make them.
I think Mike has seen the error in what he did. No it is not good form to turn and sell like that. He should have relisted it here. I still consider Mike a good friend, but I will bust his stones. If Blake was looking for more money he could have sold his gear on Agon, or craigs list instead of hooking up Polkies. If you guys still don't get what the FM is here for please go hang out at AA.

You are correct, as we can all see who those folks really are.

You have always been a ****.
Please don't ever PM me again. Find someone else to do your crossovers. Maybe one of these other asshats that just don't get it can come over and you can have a little asshat/crossover rebuilding party.
In case you haven't noticed the only people that like you here obviously don't spend to much time here. You show where your morals are at. I am very disappointed at who is on your friends list. It did not take long for me to drop you. I think you and No Tech Kid are a perfect match;)
