    Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

    Oh my God...How did I miss this thread.

    Slowpolky-Get out of here with your bleeding heart liberal ****.

    That guy had every right in the world to shoot the guy that invaded his home, refused to leave, threatened his family, and tried to gain control of his firearm.

    He should have called 911? For starters...this entire chain of events probably went down over the period of 2 minutes. Had he even been able to call 911, which he wouldn't have been capable of with a guy trying to steal his shotgun...he and his family would have been killed anyway.

    What's he going to do? Tell the guy to wait until the cops show up? Obviously being held at gunpoint wasn't very effective, as the guy tried to steal his gun. Even if the cops had responded instantly, and been in the immediate vicinity, it still would have taken them at least 2-3 minutes to even get there. In that time, the intruder could have killed the guy and his entire family.

    So guns should be outlawed? If you outlaw guns, the only people with them, are going to be the outlaws. All of the criminals are still going to have their guns, but now all of the good honest citizens are completely helpless. You're an idiot if you think otherwise. I have several guns, and my 12ga is loaded at all times. You damn well better believe that I'm ready to use it, if necessary. I'll only use it as a last resort, but if I DO have to use it, I'm shooting to kill.

    I certainly don't find any joy in this incident...it's a terrible thing. I feel bad for the family of the kid that got killed, but it WAS his own fault. An unlocked door isn't an open invitation. I feel worse for the guy that's going to have this kids death on his conscience for the rest of his life.

    His actions were completely justified. To even think that this guy should be criminally charge for his actions is insane. He was trying to protect his own life, and the lives of his family. He dealt with it in the only way possible.

    Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a South Dakotan?

    Here is a little test that will help you decide

    You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges at you.

    You are carrying a Glock cal 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

    What do you do?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Democrat's Answer
    Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
    Does the man look poor! Or oppressed?
    Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
    Could we run away?
    What does my wife think? What about the kids?
    Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
    What does the law say about this situation?
    Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?
    Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?
    Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
    Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
    If I were to grab his knees and hold on , could my family get away while he was stabbing me?
    Should I call 9-1-1 ?
    Why is this street so deserted?
    We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
    This is all so confusing!
    I need to discuss with some friends over a latte and try to come to a consensus.
    Republican's Answer:
    BANG!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    South Dakotan's Answer:

    BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click....
    (sounds of reloading)

    BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click

    Daughter: 'Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?'

    Son: 'You got him, Pop! Can I shoot the next one?'

    Wife: 'You are not taking that to the taxidermist.'

Point is that i dont need a gun to defend my home and i always lock my door

    OK so your some bad a** martial arts dude. Aren't your hands registered weapons? So you defending your home with your training is no different than the home owner using his gun, just different choices of weapons.

    It's been my experience that guys that have to brag about how much sex they get, how good it is, how beautiful their woman are and how tough they are, are trying to convince themselves of these dreams more than anyone else.

    yep, I guess my earlier post call it right.

    I'll say it again, whoever trained you should be slapped. The amount of falsehoods you have posted here about genuine self defense shocks me to the core.

    right on down to you not knowing that sport fighting is not real self defense. it's been said so much it's cliche, but people like you are the reason the cliche exists.

    my man, if you think your tournament skill is going to save you in a life threatening situation you might be in for a rude awakening. From a humanistic standpoint I hope it doesnt happen but looking at your beligerant nature just on your internet posts it probably will.

    good luck with that tiger.
